......talk about "backing in".....
and I agree this is just bad for the entire Athletic Department.

This is going to cripple the football program. People have no faith in the athletic department so they are pulling donations across the board.

Thank you for not being like the other's who vow never to contribute to athletics again. Ignore those morons.
 
Maybe the lost revenue will hurt but the FB program can easily make up for the losses by winning. Also Pitt might not be spending 4 million on coaching salaries for BB, maybe that number will be closer to 2.5 which will help offset the losses.
 
Who are people kidding? Pitt has always been a football-first university. It's never been close.

Just look at the message board traffic during the height of each team's season and you will have your answer. Again, not close.

However, I hate it when people try to pit one against the other.

Personally speaking, I root for the University of Pittsburgh, not some subdivision within it. I am a season ticket holder in both sports and love them both fairly similarly. However, like most other Pittsburghers, I am much more passionate about football than I am basketball.

Well the acc dominance in the tournament and the financial windfall will offset any financial hits from this hire.
