PITT-Miami Game Day Prediction!
Miami has much more talent but Pitt has much more coaching. Miami is coming off a good win against Georgia tech and close wins against UVA, Duke with a blowout loss by UNC. Sound Familiar, hardly, because Pitt is executing opponents now. Yet, Miami can play good 30+ Points Offense protects the QB and stop many passes with a superb Backfield. Pitt has more weapons now than just Boyd does and just like last year a Running Game to compliment them. Add in Special Teams and Pitt will not lose it on Special Teams anymore as they did under Chryst! Pitt is playing at home and that helps as well. The Canes will bring pain, but the Panthers will claw it away along with an early lead and nice win. The Panthers will move into the Top 25 and earn a better Bowl. Only a total breakdown by all Players will cause a loss. Coach Pat & Staff will not let that happen. Chad Voytik will get some snaps, Whitehead some nice returns and runs, and Orndoff a shovel pass or two. Defense will grab a pick or two too! I had this game as a Toss Up in the early Preseason but that was due to Conner! Today, I moved it to a Toss Up Win for Pitt due to Narduzzi & Staff!

Preseason Prediction August 2015:
Miami:
Coach Golden recruiting this year is ranked 7th, last year 26th, 12th in 2014 and 20th in 2013. They have better talent but not the better QB. The Canes of Pain will be hurtful and frightful in Defense, but if Coach Pat & Staff are winning 7 games by now, Pitt can do the same again like last year. It is tough to pick Pitt against Miami but Golden has had much trouble relating to his Players at Miami. PItt can win this at home in the cold!

Wow, when I do my analysis I have to fight that same experience of doom and lack of confidence and what I call South of Oakland Malaise!

It is just an impending doom based on 19 years of ups and downs that ended up mediocre because of the ignorance of one ego and the arrogance not to recognize the damage he did to Two Programs, until two smarter University Leaderships did to rid him from athletics!

As I read other Sports media comments about Pitt Narduzzi , Staff, and Players a big smile comes towards preparing for
this game.

I then can see and think about Narduzzi & Staff, then Gallagher/Juhl vision, and then read about Barnes responding to the Alumni and Fans while listening to the Coaches!

Making me choose Pitt for this game with confidence and expectations not felt or seen since 1973?

Pitt wins it on a last second field goal 30-27. That will put the Panthers at 9 win and I a very nice bow game.

This is pretty much what I'm thinking. I don't get why so many people seem to think Miami has packed it in for the year, they're 3-1 since they fired Golden.
For sure, they got talent and rhythm and the play with speed, big hits, and can bushwhack any Team or Players that think otherwise. Scott has them, playing better than Golden too!

Happy Thanksgiving, and here’s one last bread crumb for the season: A Miami/Pitt prediction
November 26, 2015 by Jerry DiPaola
It’s Thanksgiving Day, and the Pitt players and coaches — at some point during the day — will check into a hotel for their weekly day-before-the-game meetings, dinner (turkey and stuffing, I hope) and lights-out well before midnight.
It’s one of the prices college and pro athletes pay. A holiday is just another day.
Kickoff for the final regular-season game is noon Friday, with ESPN2 doing the TV honors and former Pitt quarterback John Congemi providing the analysis.
I thought Louisville would be Pitt’s toughest opponent other than Iowa, North Carolina and Notre Dame, but Pitt dominated a good portion of that game.
Miami, with quarterback Brad Kaaya throwing the football from one sideline to the other (often down the field), might be better than Louisville. Perhaps the game will be decided on how well Pitt cornerbacks Lafayette Pitts
and Avonte Maddox play.
Look for another fierce Pitt pass rush, but a close game — 38-35, Pitt. Keep your foot warm and dry, Chris Blewitt.

Pitt will be ready for the final home game capping a great season.
PITT 42
The U 17

Boyd will have a record day , Ollison will romp, andPITT will have 5 QB sacks and 2 interceptions.Oh yea I forgot one fumble recovery setting up a TD.

If all of this happens I'm loading up on Megamillions tickets Friday night.

Miami is a scary type of team; lots of talent, speed, and very up and down performance. You just don't know what Miami team is going to show up.

I suspect that Pitt will be jazzed for this game. Miami will still score...possibly a TD on special teams. The Pitt offense will continue to move the ball. When the dust settles, I'll go with:

Pitt 28
Miami 24

Miami Hurricanes Brace For Physical Pittsburgh In Regular-Season Finale
By Susan Miller Degnan
Miami Herald

When the Miami Hurricanes run onto Heinz Field for their final regular-season game at noon Friday, they’ll have plenty to keep them occupied on both sides of the ball in what they expect to be their most physical matchup this season.
Here are a couple reasons why:
▪ A relentless receiver named Tyler Boyd, who has 3,238 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in three seasons — and catches everything on the planet within a mile or two.

▪ An imposing defensive end named Ejuan Price, who had five sacks against Louisville last Saturday — more than any individual Miami defender has combined for in the past 11 games.

And you might as well include the entire Pittsburgh Panthers squad, which has exceeded all expectations after losing star running back and reigning Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year James Conner to injury in the first half of the season opener.

Pitt (8-3, 6-1 ACC) is now two victories from its second 10-win season since 1982, when Dan Marino was the quarterback, and is guaranteed to finish no worse than second in the Coastal Divison. “The O-line and D-line – if we both have good days, then the whole team will have a good day,’’ said UM defensive end Ufomba Kamalu. “Pack your lunch. It’s going to be a long day.’’

The Hurricanes (7-4, 4-3) intend to keep Pitt’s win total to single digits. They insist they will keep fighting until the final snap of 2015 – or 2016 should they land in Jacksonville’s Taxslayer Bowl on Jan. 2.
“It’s a battle for pride,’’ said offensive tackle/guard Kc McDermott. “We’re going to go out there and battle with everything we’ve got. We’re going to leave it all on the field, and then hopefully go to a great bowl and enjoy the bowl game.’’

Like the Panthers, the Hurricanes still have several bowl games eyeing them. An 8-4 regular-season finish is more attractive than 7-5, and would likely move UM up to a higher-regarded tier. Either way, UM quarterback Brad Kaaya, who leads the ACC with 275.8 yards a game, reiterated this week that his teammates want to finish strong for the seniors and their coaches. He said the team has not “veered off’’ course this year like last. “We’ve stayed close,’’ Kaaya said, adding that he was thankful this holiday for his “teammates and coaches. It’s all about them.

“You really see it through all the stuff we’ve been through. I think it’s even given us more motivation.” Kaaya said he’d love to get to the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 26 at Yankee Stadium in New York City. A win Friday would help in that effort. “New York would be awesome,’’ Kaaya said. “That would be great to be in New York for Christmas time. I’m sure other guys on the team want that as well. Right now we’ve just got to do our business on the field, of course, but New York would be a dream for us.’’

To have a shot at the dream, the Canes’ at-times struggling offensive line must find a way to thwart the Panthers’ elite pass rush. Pitt averages 3.36 sacks a game — first in the ACC and fifth nationally. Defensive end Price has an ACC-best 11.5 sacks. Pitt is ranked 25th nationally in total defense and rushing defense. “I know exactly who you’re talking about,’’ UM left tackle Trevor Darling said of Price. “We’re going to come to play. He’s a great player. He works very hard. We’re going to take care of business.’’

Likewise, cornerback Artie Burns said he’s excited match up against Boyd. “One thing he’s got over most receivers, he plays with a lot of emotion, a lot of doggedness,’’ Burns said. “He runs fast and he’s explosive… Every matchup every week is a good look for me. Whoever it is, whatever their name is, I go out there and play my heart out.’’ Miami has won 16 of the past 18 games against Pittsburgh, including on the road in 2013, when nearly two dozen Canes strutted onto Heinz Field bare-chested amid temperatures in the low 30s. UM won that game 41-31, then lost a night game 35-23 last season at home, with the temperature 68 at kickoff.

The forecast for Friday calls for temperatures in the low 60s — expected to be the warmest day before winter. “As a team, you just can’t let it be a factor,’’ Kaaya said of the weather before it was forecast to be mild. Miami receiver Stacy Coley, a freshman two years ago, scored three touchdowns at Pitt in the first half. He couldn’t stand the cold, but is happy to be celebrating Thanksgiving again with his teammates. “It’s fun being with the other side of your family,’’ Coley said. “We just joke around a lot and are thankful for each other.’’

PITT: 35
UM: 24

It all comes down to creating pressure and not giving Kaaya time to throw the ball to a very talented and fast group of receivers. Yearby is a very solid RB that can create his own yardage.

On offense, PITT needs to establish the running game early, setting up play action to Boyd, Ford, etc. Also look for more rollouts to the FB for easy yardage against an aggressive D that plays a lot like L'Ville.

It is interesting that Miami QB Kaaya is talking about Bowl Games? This tells me he is either really confident or not focused on this game.

I noticed most of Pitt Payers are just focused on the game preparations, that is a good sign!

This is not the same old Pitt Teams under Chryst and Graham with Mediocre Preparations and Poor game Plans!

If Pitt is focused they'll crush them. UNC ran up and down the field on them and Pitt has the potential to do the same.

Agree Cap. The seniors want to go out on top with a chance to win 10 games. The underclassmen, which there are plenty of, are going to try and ensure that happens. This team will be ready to roll.

Every game and I mean EVERY GAME from YSU to Akron to now, was a Toss Up Game and still is, until Coach Pat establishes his System with the Players. They were all wait and see and a combination of judging the Coaching mixed in with New QB, dealing with Injuries, to learning to execute the GAme Plans, tackling, blocking, not missing drop balls......it has been a hold your breath every game.

However, now that the Players on all Three Units bought into the Coaches Game Plans and Half Time Adjustments and finish Game, Pitt can play anyone and give theme game now.

Here is how I see it Right Now:

Pitt Against Top Competition & More Talent Teams meaning Pure Talent Teams:

1. ND
2. MIAMI
3. UNC
4. IOWA
5. VT
6. UVA
7. ULOU
PITT

8. DUKE
9. GT
10. CUSE
11. AKRON
12. YSU

NOW AGAINST TOP COACHES:
1. ND
PITT

2. IOWA
3. ULOU
4. UNC
5. GT
6. VT
7. DUKE
8. MIAMI (ONLY B/C INTERIM)
9. AKRON
10. YSU
11. UVA
12. CUSE

FINALLY A COMBINATION OF THE TWO WITH DEPTH CHART EVALUATION:
1. ND
2. UNC
PITT

3. IOWA
4. MIAMI
5. ULOU
6. DUKE
7. GT
8. UVA
9. VT
10. CUSE
11. YSU
12. AKRON

PITT has changed now that we are in the 12th game, but they actually have to get way better to take on better Talent, still this year. This game is no gimme, but I have not seen Pitt play such complete games, improve every game, learn from losses, make Half Time Adjustments, create Great Game Plans and have the players execute better and better every game since 1980s!

It took early close game wins to change attitudes and establish a no quit attitude that is why they all have close scores except Akron.

The Pitt Opponents came into many of the Pitt games thinking they will beat Pitt like years before from YSU, AKRON, VT, UVA and GT and even IOWA saw a different Defense still beatable but not surrender-able. An Inconsistent Offense dealing with a New OC & QB and just 1 WR, New RBs, and 2 TEs with an injured OL that needed time to adjust with New QB and all New Wrs & RBs of the them!

The Special Teams actually made a difference in games by blocking kicks, making trick plays to gain 4th downs, and overages good in all games and made good Punts and FGs. They lost IOWA but learned from it, both Coaches & Players! All of those games except were won and loss by late Drives and Defenses keep the ball from the other offenses from scoring the last minute except a lucky historic kick at Iowa? Previous Coaching Staff would have lost some!

The Syracuse Game was won by a long drive with Great coaching boldly going for a fake Punt! This was the pivot game as far as I am concern they really came together and learned not to quit and made critical plays and still were inconsistent on Offense and Defense.

The UNC and ND Games had better talent and coaches having better years but in reality our Offense Players dropped passes, missed blocks, and Defense missed tackles and made mistakes enough to play good but lose by poor execution of just 4 to 5 Plays that could have won those games. Whitehead should have played on offense in the UNC not just ND game, but i am just glad they finally played him. Boyd was just beat up by these two Teams.

However, the Duke and ULou games is when this Team and Coaches totally cam,e together and not just Boyd and Peterman but all the WRS, RBs, and TEs doing their job with the OL. The defense gave up big plays but stopped the runs. Only the Special Teams needed some more work on a few letdowns and Narduzzi mentioned he will fix that this week.

Well, now comes Miami, far more talented, playing tough Teams ranked in the Top 10 & 25 and not afraid to play Smash Mouth Football, and they have way more speed and their Coaching is not bad at all now that Golden is gone.

Maybe we lose a Heart breaker like a Poster says tomorrow, but I doubt it, I think Pitt will play its Second Best Game because the Players focus on preparing for executing the Game Plans. It is called Narduzzi confidence and it is Catchy all year long and play by play from game to game!

Miami has to be at their best and it is my guess they think it is the same old Pitt, just a Hunch!

" POSTPITTSCRIPT":

I said, this Miami Game will be the Second Best game Pitt Plays this season, but do you want to know the very best Game Pitt plays....... WATCH OUT AND GO TO THE BOWL GAME PITT WILL BE PLAYING!

I say this because you give Narduzzi & staff 2 to 4 Weeks to prepare for anyone and Pitt Players will give Any Team A Great Game under Coach Pat & Staff!!

Never saw it, but given he was the "original James Bond", sounds interesting.
Not really, Ian Fleming worked at MI6 during WWII and while there read everything on Sidney Reilly Exploits!

Sidney Rosenbloom was an Ukrainian that spoke 7 languages, faked his suicide in Kiev and was hired by White Hall King & Country at that time, and went on to changed the face of espionage in the 20th century.

Reilly was a name he took because he said, the Irish are welcomed in all nations except one, and since he worked for that nation, he thought it was best for him and them?

When Ian Fleming left MI6 to write Spy Novels he often took names from his friends and mixed them together to come with his characters. Monday was his Secretary changed it to Friday. He had two Friends in Harry Bond and James Atkins! He first names to call his Character was Harry Atkins, but his Brother said, you know the better name is James Bond!

When Ian Fleming was quizzed many years later on how writes about such things and how James Bond is written by him.....he was quoted as saying....you do know he was not even close to Sidney Reilly!

I watch British Movies, TV Shows, Masterpiece Theater and PBS Series almost exclusively and buy them. The British House of Cards Version make the American Version comical and I won't and can't watch it, it is simply terrible in content and acting!

I just watched Wolf Hall and Mr. Selfridge and they were terrific. Also, the 4 part series on Ian Fleming on Netflix is excellent just like the Book and PBS Series, Sidney Reilly Ace of Spies!!

This will be a tough game, although Miami is thin at lb so I think we will be able to run

This is why I post, to learn from others, like you just mentioned the Linebacker! This means stopping the run and Tight end passes may be tough on Miami!
Thanks!
