is the strategy to pack it in for the 2nd half, or try to find the counterattack once the Irish start pressing?

It was an interesting first half. ND played a defensive, counter-attacking game against Pitt twice and shut them out twice. Today, they came out with a high press and played a very offensive-minded first half. It resulted in a lot of half chances and time of possession but no goals.

Pitt had to play in its own end a lot and didn’t have a lot of chances. But, overall the chances were better than Notre Dame’s. Loeffelsend had a great volley from outside the box that just missed. With 4 minutes left, he had a similar volley. This time, Fietosa redirected it past the GK.

After that, Pitt fell into a very defensive mindset, which they simply can’t play. ND had 2 good chances in the last 4 minutes.

Pitt has to go back to playing their game.

Pitt needs to find more possession over this last half hour, because if the game keeps going the way that it has for the first 15 minutes of this half it probably isn't going to end well.

Stoppage in play for a Pitt injury 106’. I think they said it’s Bailey. Looks like he maybe dislocated a shoulder or elbow landing on the ground after a quasi-bicycle kick.

I saw ND beat Louisville on PKs. If I remember correctly, all 4 went to the same spots they went to today. Their GK was going to take the 5th one but didn’t have to. Like today.

After Mrkovic missed I would have bet money on Dexter to miss.

What's the real deal with the players that were "dismissed" from the team? Did they leave voluntarily, or were they really dismissed? Is there something going on within the program?
