Nice hat give-away, too. Rally House in Cranberry stocks the New Era version of the Pitt/Pirates hybrid hats and they said they were one of their hottest sellers. Picked one up last weekend and instantly one of my new favorite hats.

Does anyone know if someone with Pitt ties is throwing out the first pitch? It would be appropriate if Ken Macha threw out the first pitch.
LOL. Yes, have WVU and PSU nights when the Pirates are still technically in the hunt and have Pitt on a Tuesday night, now out of it, against the worst team. Nutting for nutting.
College Nights are on Wednesdays throughout the year. There are other schools after Pitt.
Actually to give Nutting benefit of the doubt, I don't think he gives a flying burrito of what events they're putting on, what time they are, who they might be screwing over. He's strictly counting the pennies, perhaps literally.
The unfortunate thing is that it would take all of his family being in a plane or building that would somehow explode ... which would be a terrible tragedy of course

Haven't seen that version for sale and most of the Pirates giveaways are corporate sponsored promos made just as a one-time give-away. Your best bet may be to keep an eye on ebay for fans re-selling it or hit PirateFest in the winter, as they sometimes sell or give away surplus promo items as prizes from the prior season.
