Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi acknowledged deficiencies in the passing game, but he said quarterback Nathan Peterman has been playing “above-average to winning (football)” the past two weeks. “Nathan managed the game well,” he said of the loss to Oklahoma State. “The opener (against Villanova) wasn't as well managed.”Yet, Peterman wasn't perfect, Narduzzi said. “We missed some throws. We missed reads, especially on some third-and-medium calls,” the coach said. “We didn't put the ball where we needed to at times.”..................
He also said redshirt freshman wide receiver Tre Tipton “played a pretty solid football game. He has some wheels.” Freshman Aaron Mathews may have a bigger role Saturday against North Carolina...............

That is disappointing, reading that from Narduzzi. It reminds me of the BS spin Huntington gives all the time about the payroll. Anyone watching the games knows that Peterman is NOT playing above-average to winning football so stop insulting our intelligence Coach!!!

sounds like they are looking more for a game manager than someone who can take over and make something happen in the 4th quarter.

We're 106th in passing yards, there is room for improvement. But hey, Pat said Nate has been better than average.

They've done this for a living for quite a while. I'm sure they want more out of the position but you can't get blood out of a rock. A coach's job is certainly to push guys but also put them in positions where they're most likely to succeed. I trust that's what they're doing.

No, they're not looking for a game manager, they're stuck with a game manager until they get a playmaker at QB. That guy may be on the roster right now or he may not. Either way we need to recruit that position really hard every year. No question the QB deficiencies have been one of the things holding the program back for years. We see mid majors finding and developing better QBs than Pitt all the time. You'd think we'd get lucky amd find a diamond in the rough with one of these guys we've had since Palko, but it hasn't happened. With all due respect to Pickett we'd better add another QB to this class.

Juco or what about a Sr Grad Transfer. The QB for Cal is a Sr Grad Transfer and he was lighting up Texas on Sat.

They better get some WRs. Indount any hotshot QB is coming here unless that position is upgraded. Some of the younger guys might have some promise but I'd think anyone with 1 year of eligibility would want a known quantity of talent around him.

Yeah, I can see you may need more foresight and than hearing things?
