Pitt Offense two second half turnovers that would have been TDs giving the Panthers 42 points. Still, the defense couldn’t stop Miami on third downs or cover and once the DLs went out so was stopping the run. All Miami Defense did was keyed on Conner and held him under 50 yards and to 1 TD and the running game dropped. Clemson is whole new world coming up and now Narduzzi will really see how good Pitt measures up with injuries, inconsistent executions, and being out coached with his second blow out loss.

I had some hope Pitt would be ready for Clemson earlier but the Defense never improved as I expected by the 9th Game, Pitt now has more Injuries, Clemson is #2 on Offense and #1 on Pass Defense and it is at Clemson.

I had it a Loss before Season turned it to a Toss UP Loss in Mid-Season but unless Saint Paul comes and blinds some Clemson Players temporarily or Pitt's OC Canada can create a Game Plan that has Pitt score 70+ points against #1 Pass Defense in the ACC, it is going to require that kind of Special Win!!!!!! From what I saw Saturday, not looking good. I hope I am wrong!
Excerpt:

................“I have to be better,” he said. “Certainly, I have a lot of things to get better at.”...........The game will be nationally televised by ABC (Channel 4 locally). Clemson (9-0, 5-0) has allowed zero or one touchdown in five games, including a 19-13 victory at No. 8 Auburn and a 54-0 shutout Saturday of Syracuse, which managed 277 yards of offense after entering the game second in the ACC with an average of 486.8. Another hurdle for Peterman: Clemson leads the conference in pass defense (180.1 yards per game).............Clemson's Memorial Stadium is a venue Pat Narduzzi never has experienced as a coach, but he appears eager to see how his team will react to it. “We're going to find out where we measure up and see how we compete and bounce back,” he said. Cornerback Avonte Maddox hoped he was speaking for the entire team when he said, “There are some tough guys on this team. There are no weak-hearted guys.”.............

THE GOOD THE BAD & UGLY NEWS:

THE GOOD:
Conner scored a touchdown against Miami, giving him at least one in all but one game this season. His career total of 47 rushing touchdowns is tied for second in ACC history with Clemson's James Davis (2005-'08).N.C. State's Ted Brown has held the record (49) for 38 years.

THE BAD:
Defensive end Ejuan Price had only one tackle after leading the nation in per-game tackles for a loss (2.0) and standing second in sacks (1.13). Quarterback Brad Kaaya said Miami designed a seven-man protection scheme after previously using six. Narduzzi said Price faced almost constant double-team blocking. “Which means someone else has to get home,” he said. “We tried to move him around. We have to find a way to beat that. We're probably going to see it again.” The 51 points marked the most allowed by Narduzzi's defense in his 22 games as Pitt's coach.

THE UGLY:
In a perfect world, Narduzzi doesn't like to rotate cornerbacks. But he used four against Miami: starters Ryan Lewis and Dane Jackson and later Maddox and freshman Damar Hamlin. It might have been five, but Phillipie Motley is injured......Asked to describe his physical state, Maddox said, “To an extent, I can do everything.” He said Miami's speed at wide receiver shouldn't have affected the game by itself. “They got good speed. We have good speed,” he said. “It's just who can make the plays. We have to make a play when the ball is in the air.” ..............

Here is the biggest key to why Pitt lost Saturday. We don't have a good rushing DE outside of Price.
The injury to Hendrix is really coming back to haunt us at this point. If I were an opposing team, Price would be double teamed on any passing play and just sit back and let the receivers get open.

Can't and won't disagree with you.

Captain I'm sorry to say but there will be no special win on Saturday for Pitt. What there will be is Narduzzi and his stubbornness on full display as Clemson scores over 65 points on us and annihilates us on National tv. I was dead on about the Miami game and I will be right about this as well.

Clemson 65 Pitt 20, maybe 17

Kudos to your Miami Blowout and credit your vision on it. I am not sorry for Narduzzi, it is up to him to make it work, and I still stand he is the best fit for Pitt and will prove it.

Clemson is coming and I had no illusions before the season, thought Pitt might give them a good game by Mid-Season, but after the injuries, and Offensive breakdowns, even if Pitt scores 70 points, might not be enough.

I'll post up the predictions as soon as available. I still stand by Coach Pat is on the right track, and still think he is a better fit for Pitt, than Holgrosen at WVU & Franklin at Penn State. When I change my mind and admit I was wrong I will post it.

Nate Peterman can be a puzzlement. He makes enough good passes that you wonder why he can't do it more consistently. NP's passes to the sidelines are scary. Some are late or telegraphed and should be picked off going the other way; many are too weak or way low and go into the ground giving our receiver no chance. Makes me wonder if it's his footwork or shoulder turn because his arm seems strong enough.

Would like to see him finish his career with four strong games. Do some of the things you expect an experience senior QB to do to get his team victories...

Go Pitt

It is just a HUNCH, but I would love to see some of the BIG MACvittie Attack with some sights of Big Ben Dinucci in a few games at mop up, and in the Bowl. I just think OC Canada will have them playing pretty good in 2017.
