That's what they are selling at on Stubhub also. 2500 tickets still on Stubhub so prices should fall to $1 or $2. Bottom line is there arent 68,000 people in this area who would go to this game if it were free. Tickets are basically free as it is.

At least Pitt is trying to get more people there but it probably wont work. We are a 45K max program like Stanford, Baylor, TCU, Minnesota, Miami, GT, etc. There's nothing wrong with that but it just looks so bad at Heinz. Imagine if GT played at the Georgia Dome?

It will be traveling day for the World Series (barring weather issues) and there is an NFL game, I guess....yawn. The NHL is playing and I guess the NBA starts this week....but really....their games are all meaningless this time of year. The Pitt-NC game should get quite a few eyeballs. I, for one, just as a college football fan, am really looking forward to this game.
You guys win this game....you're a player. Beat the golden domers....and I absolutely believe you have a real shot there. Then you're looking very good to meet Clemson in ACC Champ. I'm telling my buddies that you guys are....the.....sleeper team in college football this year. Iowa looks like a lock to get to the B1G Championship game. Your lonely loss there will actually be a resume enhancer. Now don't make me look bad.

I have become a real Panther fan.....in football only, however.

You have said dumb things before, but this is up there with them. We have averaged over 50K throughout the Wannstedt years. Of course you can get more fans. I remember being a hockey fan growing up and people saying "Pittsburgh will never get more than 7000 fans a game for hockey" or "I dont care how good the Pirates are, this isnt a baseball city, we will never sell out"...

It is total crap. Pittsburgh is a fair weather city, like most big cities with lots of entertainment options. Sure, you are in slappy valley... if your team sucks... then what??? nothing that is what... so you still go. Not so for Pittsburgh. When the teams arent doing well, the fans dont show, and when the teams are doing well the fans are there.

Thursday night games are a bit different creature. I knew multiple people not able to give away Steelers' Thursday night tickets a few weeks ago against the hated Ravens. Most prior Steelers-Ravens games fill to 99%+ capacity at Heinz. The Steelers are sold out for years to come and are generally stating 6-10K announced no-shows for prime time games which is double that of day games. However, the in-stadium appearance is that the actual no-show numbers for prime time games look far greater than announced and those crowds are departing early. The 4th quarter stadium shots of last year's Steelers' Monday and Thursday night games could look like some Pitt noon games against MAC schools.

I agree, Thursday night games are a different story. For people that work it basically eliminates tailgating unless you live in or near downtown.
If this game was a Saturday night game I would say 50-55k is a possibility.
Can't remember what year it was, but we played Miami on Thursday night and we got destroyed and it seemed like there was 30k people there.

Is there an actual game this week or just a concentration effort?
