Each week, ESPN "eliminates" teams from contention for the CFP. According to them, only 26 remain.

The most interesting thing though is that Pitt's SOS according to ESPN is pretty good. It ranks 35th which is better than 15 Top 25 teams. I dont want to admit we are good yet because I dont think we've beaten any good teams but our SOS says otherwise.

Watching the inaugural college football playoff show the last week in October or first week in November last year, I thought that was a realistic goal for this year. Just be on TV discussed in the first playoff rankings. As it is, this will be after the UNC game and before the ND game. So if we're still in the discussion then, it will be huge and will make for an outstanding matchup with the Irish.

We haven't beaten any good teams but VT especially and kind of GT despite their awful record aren't exactly bad teams either. Going into either Blacksburg or Bobby-Dodd and getting a win if you're a team like Pitt is viewed as a good accomplishment and rightly so. Iowa is much better now than they were when they beat us but we're much better too so a last-second road loss to them keeps looking good.

VT is 3-4
GT is 2-5

You have not, no disrespect, beaten a team over .500, the closest being YSU at 3-3. Tranquilo, amigos.

But look who they played. For the record, I'd rank the teams Pitt and PSU have played as such.

1. @ Ohio State
2. @ Iowa
3. @ Georgia Tech
4. @ Virginia Tech
5. @ Temple
6. Virginia
7. San Diego State
8. Rutgers
9. Indiana
10. @ Akron
11. Buffalo
12. Youngstown State
13. Army

Its basically a fact that Pitt has had the tougher schedule.

Yeah, PSU has played the tougher team no doubt. But week to week, we have definitely had the more challenging schedule. Does PSU think they would be 5-2 with Pitt's schedule? No way.

Yes state penn played 1 really good team in Ohio St, and they got hammered by 28, 1 so, so team in temple and lost, barely beat army

Buffalo (119th Sagarin)
Rutgers (80)
San Diego State (78)
Army (134)
Indiana (77)

VT (51)
GT (46)

Full disrespect intended, your crap program never plays anyone before October and you schedule at least 3 division II equivalents out of your 8 home games every year. How does your pathetic team not get 8 wins a year guaranteed with your wuss scheduling? What other program gets 8 home games a year every year (and usually an "away" game against Temple or some school really close to PA where cultists can come dominate the crowd)? Scared of going places that aren't covered with 80% shingle brick?

Dont forget, they also get sh!tty Big Ten teams to give up home games to play them at neutral sites. They beat IU in Landover in front of 70,000 PSU fans and are playing Maryland at the Ravens' stadium this year in front of mostly cultists.

If PSU played Pitt's schedule this year, they'd be 3-3.

If they played Georgia Tech's schedule, they'd be 1-6.

The W/L record doesn't tell the story. Every P5 team in America would be at least 5-2 with PSU's schedule.

I'd actually probably put YSU ahead of Buffalo and Akron lol. At least with Pelini they're probably looking at a bright future in FCS. Ever since Turner Gill left Buffalo has been a joke and Akron looks to have taken steps backward this year. In no way has YSU shown much in even FCS this year to back this statement up, I just really think after watching Buffalo and Akron play that they are both that bad.
