due to the on side kick, PITT only had one third-quarter possession-- it ended in a field goal.

Pitt's second possession of the second half was the botched fake field goal.

Pitt's third possession of The second half ended with Weah's touchdown.

Marshall had five second half possessions and scored touchdowns on the first four.

there wasn't a single punt by either team in the second half.

Pitt won the game by 16 and was by far the better team for 3/4 of the game. We also won the game without Whitehead.

Um maybe you forgot already but Pitt was NOT the best team for 3/4 of the game. Pitt was outscored 27-3 until the last couple of minutes. And then on a 4th and forever desperation pass Maddox scored to pad the lead to 16.

Pitt nearly blew a 27 point lead to a 1-2 Marshall team for heavens sake. The only thing to like about the game was that they miraculously held onto win.

The fake field goal was a bad coaching decision, should have punted. on TV they showed Doc on the sidelines telling his players to watch for it.

If they wanted to go for it, just go for it.

Marshall hadn't proven they could stop us. That's the type of call you make if you are playing a tough defense

This was one game where BOTH rushing and passing was working. So why not just run a play??

First half 27-0 Pitt

Second half 27-16 Marshall

Winner by 16-Pitt. Parse it as you wish. Everyone concedes that the 3rd quarter was dominated by Marshall the same way the first half was dominated by Pitt

Our offense should have scored more points. The TD in which a holding call was made was a bad play by Ollison. He did not have to hold to get the TD. There were multiple missed calls by the officials as well. We were 16 points better yesterday.

Trying to run a QB keeper against 9 men piled in the line is not smart. A keeper at the one is way different than a keeper at mid field. defenders have deeper responsibilities at mid field that they don't have at the goal line.

I hear ya - I was referring to the TD Ashton scored on, but was called back.
