Crazy that Nick Goings had a longer NFL career than Kevan Barlow. I expected Barlow to have a monster career after his senior year and first few years with the Niners.

Yeah I always thought that was insane! Kevan Barlow was pretty good with San Francisco but the knee injuries derailed his career. What could have been, damn injuries

Blades-Redskins
loved H.B. Blades when he was coming out, one of the best Pitt linebackers I've seen play. Him and Clint Session were always fun to watch! Wish Kylan Johnson can get signed somewhere; the most recent linebacker at Pitt that was everywhere! Cam Bright; wish he would pull his name out of the transfer portal and finish his career at Pitt and go onto the NFL as a Pitt alumni. The next Pitt linebacker that's intriguing is SirVocea Dennis!

Tom Brown with the Dolphins. Ramon Walker with the Texans. Dave Trout with the Steelers. Hard to believe Scott McKillop's injury kept him out of the league after one season with the niners.

Although it's certainly worthy of debate, but I doubt that Shady makes the HOF, unfortunately.

Just reviewing.

Strengths: RB, OL, DL, TE, P
Decent: QB, (though you only need 1 so Marino makes it a strength), WR, LB, K
Weakness: DB (though comparatively speaking

Yeah that unfortunately sucked when McKillop got injured....he was a really good LB too, thought he would've done great things with San Francisco.....I believe Shady will make it, but I'm kind of biased when it comes to Pitt players and I'll admit that haha, but Shady had a phenomenal career, I just don't see why he wouldn't get in. Sam with Ruben Brown, he had an outstanding career with Buffalo and Bill Fralic too - I mean both have already been in the semifinalist among votes I believe a couple of times; so there's some credibility for their candidacy.

Two guys often overlooked but I wonder if they will ever have any shot at the hOF. Fred Cox with the Vikings and Andy Lee with the 49ers/Cardinals. I know that kickers and punters aren’t wet sexy HOF picks but I wonder if these guys will ever have a shot at getting in.

Yeah for sure. And he got his big NFL break because of injuries (to Garrison Hearst). To this day his performances against BC and WVU (he ran for almost 300 in that one!) in 2000 were some of the greatest I've seen by any Pitt player.

Ruben Brown definitely should be in. He was a 9 time pro-bowler! I really think OLmen need ~10+ years in the league to be considered, and that's what probably hurts Fralic the most.

I'm not super familiar with Pitt football performances up until I really started paying attention to the team around 2012ish..?? I think haha, I'm familiar with the Fitzgerald Heisman vote when he got screwed and 13-9 against West Virginia when Palko (I think) said that he "F**king Loves this team" hahaha which is a classic! I remember when I thought the WR Ronald Jones was gonna tear it up in the NFL haha. But I know Kevan Barlow must've done great things while at Pitt due to him being drafted in the 3rd round (similar to Curtis Martin)

He was a little inconsistent that year (as was the team in general) but he had those breakout performances. His stock went way up after the Senior Bowl, if I remember correctly.

Yeah Ruben Brown should definitely be in the Hall of Fame by now honestly. When you look at it, Tony Boselli only played what, 7 seasons? He should already be in too; I thought he was until I just looked him up. But honestly if Boselli gets in, I think Fralic should be as followed. Definitely think both Fralic & Boselli should both be in (although I know Boselli is a USC Trojan; give credit where credit is due)

I've often pondered these same exact thoughts. I definitely think Andy Lee deserves to be in; he's been extremely consistent year in and year out! Fred Cox and Ed Sharockman of those great Vikings teams I think should both be in as well!

The trouble is no LBs the last 10 years...
I honestly thought Kylan Johnson would be that next linebacker honestly! I hope he gets a shot in the revamped USFL (hopefully with the Pittsburgh Maulers!) to showcase his talents! He was all over the field when he transferred from Florida to Pitt

Really have to disagree with not putting Gordon Jones in the starting lineup over Antonio. Not sure why he didn't stick in the NFL for all that long. I realize you probably never saw him play, but he was really really good. Would love to have seen him play with the QBs, offenses and rules of today.

And that defense would be unbelievable.

I'll need to look up some games with Gordon Jones playing haha, I know at Pitt he was really good from what I've read

You forget that Mark May won the Outland—and Al Romano was the dominant player on the 1976 team-they both belong on the starting team—Gordon Jones—just look at film of the 1975 game vs Norte Dame and film of the national championship game vs Georgia. Pitt has a rich history.

Oh this is a list of players that played in the NFL from Pitt; I'm looking forward to making a Pitt-College all time team to
