Pitt recruit(s) this weekend

We were at Eddie V's tonight and the Pitt coaching staff along with Hugley were sitting at a table with 1, maybe 2 recruits across from us.
I did not recognize the other kid.
This is your in person recruiting news.

Was he there?

Weren’t we one of his finalists before he ultimately left school early for UCONN? I find this visit interesting as he was highly regarded but never seemed to find a groove in Storrs. But unless I’m mistaken he was frequently injured too.

Weren’t we one of his finalists before he ultimately left school early for UCONN? I find this visit interesting as he was highly regarded but never seemed to find a groove in Storrs. But unless I’m mistaken he was frequently injured too.

My buddy gave me the following scoop:

“Great, great kid. Fan favorite but the injury killed him. At this point, not sure if the athleticism he had before the injury is gone or if he’s just afraid to try to do the same things he had in the past. Still a really good defender and shot blocker that can control the paint, but offensively he’s very limited. If his 3 is falling, he can get hot and knock down a few in a row but when it’s off he really doesn’t bring anything on that end. Before the injury he showed an ability to take guys off the dribble and get to the hoop due to his supreme athletic ability but it has not come back since.”

He couldn’t stop saying what a great kid he is so, from a culture perspective, you’d love to see him here. I really liked his game when we were on him the first time around so I’d like to see us take a chance on him.
