Pitt Retro 2.2.19

reminds me of the all-banana-yellow Rams unis this year.

This should be the permanent home uni next year.
Yellow home unis, blue roads, white alternates worn for big time home games or something like that. Kinda like the Lakers when they first introduced their white alternates after years of strictly yellow or purple jerseys.

These throwbacks look unbelievable, and it would be cool if Pitt did something a little bit different to stick out.

What I find fascinating about the Rams is that we’re both going through a “retro renaissance” at the same time with the same colors.

Both started out in the royal and mustard, went to navy and gold for a short time, and are now bringing back their original looks. I think it’s part of a bigger trend in sports. More and more teams and schools are reverting to a simpler, older look.

Hopefully Pitt can have a similar level of success as them, too!

Rams need to make the blue and yellow permanent and ditch the blue and white. One of the be best five unis in the NFL.

Home whites are classy. if you gotta have a 3rd jersey, go with the black-out look that was used for a game or two.

Bright yellow might work for a change of pace in football but it screams trailer trash to me in hoops.

The late 90s and 2000s were a more understated era for colors than the garish 80s. Also recall that the 70s and 80s had a lot of wild looking MLB uniforms. Then in the early 2000s, teams went overboard with the classic 60s sleeveless look and simple designs.

It’s a cycle.

Those blackout jerseys where THE WORST EVER, the PITT in dark blue was practically invisible, all you could see was the numbers. At least go with bright blue or yellow script if you want black jerseys.

It's a great look. Warriors rock it often in the NBA. Right now they are THE team in that league. People love it.

Hopefully they where something cool like this in the Super Bowl and not the boring ones with the white Deacon Jones Ram horns on the helmet.
They're wearing the retro look. The usual one and not the all yellow though.

There's another big league hoops squad that wears something like it... Trying to remember. Oh, yeah. That's right.

I'd say the most recognizable look in all of hoops history is the Lakers yellow and purple home look.

This. Maybe add some piping and blue/gold/white trim for the collars and sleeves like Pitt look with Jerome Lane so they pop a bit more.

I’m cool either way. I’d prefer some shoulder stripes on the football unis personally. Basketball though, I kinda like the clean look of plain jerseys.

For example the Lakers again.... the yellow unis from the 80s with the collar and piping were decent, still a classic look and a top uni for the era. The more recent unis from the 2000s though IMO were one of the best NBA unis ever. Just my opinion though.
