Pitt should reveal next year's uniforms before the bowl game

As stupid as I think it is, the new uniforms may get some recruits to pay a little more attention to us. Nobody is going to commit for uniforms but for some kids on the fence, the hype and coolness of the uniforms could push them over. Admittedly, this is really stupid but uniforms are a bigger deal than they should be in recruiting.

Usually you do this stuff in the spring ir summer to help with season ticket sales but with so many big fish out there, I think we do the reveal in Dec. Have Jordan Whitehead and Peterman model them. Have the new unis talked about and shown during our bowl game, etc. I just think now may be the best time to do it.

I was thinking about this topic SMF, when would be a good time. I'd like to hear about it in spring ball, maybe kicking off spring camp with a little press conference. Honestly, if I were the AD, I'd hold off til the beginning of summer camp in august. I know they usually have a press day, pictures on first day, that would be perfect to build the momentum up, maybe a late spike in tickets..

As a fan, I don't want to wait that long but think that it would be the best timing..

Nonsense. Are they in a secret closet in the Cathedral?? Why do this before the bowl game?? Focus should be on THAT game, not next September. If a kid commits here because next year's duds look spiffy, he's not very bright.

whenever they announce or show them, use an actual football player this time. I remember the nike combat uniform unveiling, they used a 5'7" white kid that looked like he was in a high school band. Look at this kid, he looks like someone that should be on a poster for "sensitivity towards gender reassignment week".

There is now. Barnes contracted SP and Associates to design the new unis.

It sounds like a good idea from SMF, and it would be great to see them this Friday or against a Great Bowl Game?

However, I am very happy to wait and leave this up to Coach Narduzzi, Barnes and Gallagher now.

It Is Narduzzi's Team and let him decide, he may want to do it next year against Penn State?

Pitt has finally been blessed with a Great Coach that can coach up his Recruits, Players into Complete Teams, his way and after one finds a Great Person to Coach his Players, let him coach!

Barnes is smart enough to talk and listen to Narduzzi, and can check back with Alumni & Fans as he continues to build up the Fan base & Contributors!

Gallagher did his job, he selected people to select a Great Coach & Athletic Director and has other busy things to do, and can check with them should he desire it.

After all it his call, vision, and selection of people and policies that make this all happen in the end anyway. The Bucks starts and stops there!

My view and others can differ, so be it!

The design is actually complete, Narduzzi said as much during fall camp (even showed photos on his phone to a couple reporters). But because ordering/production is a year-long process, there's no point in showing them when they won't be in stores for another 8 or 9 months.

It's not; he later clarified that those are just the color components (i.e. every component has a blue/gold/white option).

Where do these guys come up with this stuff. They have said time and again that next year's unis will be revealed next year. That means next season, not this year's bowl season.

Great. That will be the next "great" Pitt message board debate. Dot or no dot. What if it were a script dot? Should the dot be blue, gold or white? Maybe the dot should be in the ugly blue and yellow colors we used to wear back when someone thought it was a good idea to not actually wear the schools colors, as a bone to those colorblind people who loved that color scheme. Maybe we should only use the dot on campus and not at a off campus site. Let's not let any buses take any dots back to Oakland until after the game ends. Will the dot not like the fact that it has to take a bus across the river to go to practice? Let's hope the dot gets us more night games. No, wait, maybe the dot doesn't like night games because it has a long drive home after the game. But not enough people come see the dot when it appears at noon. Hmmm...

LOL, I actually take the color of the facemask quite serious. Personally a fan of gray, blue is ok, hate yellow on yellow, white is ok. Thoughts?
