Interesting that I have no heard of any Pitt players looking to transfer in light of all the "insiders" earlier in the year stating that there was massive unrest in the locker room and a number of kids would be leaving the program. I do think we may have seen a number of kids leave had Duz not made the moves with Watson and the WR Coach.

Really looking forward to this season as I do think Pitt will win a few more games this year and be back in Charlotte for the ACC championship game.

Pitt will have 5 or 6 transfer out as they do every year. They will be players we want to leave to make room for late recruits and transfers in. Look at any non freshman that was not on the two deep. Those will be the players to go.

Your probably right but there are a few guys I would like to see stick around and develop but that is not college football now days.

I think we can all agree that the only thing those "insiders" could give insight on is the details of their Mom's basement in central Pa.

I'm still convinced that one or two of them have their Mom in a freezer.

What a crazy lot.

Yeah I dont know how many kids will ultimately transfer and Im sure there will be some but you would think if a kid is leaving hed have his name in the portal by now.........no?

I think some of them are pure flamers who could care less about Pitt and are here just to stir the pot......then there is a segment of our fan base who would look at a glass 7/8 full and complain about the 1/8 thats empty..........some folks just enjoy wallowing in misery.

Maybe decisions aren't finalized until the second NLI makes it a necessity.

In the end, I think Pitt lost a total of 8 to transfers last year plus three left early for the draft. I think a lot of it depends on where kids see themselves on the depth chart and how the staff moves them around. Other guys like Kaezon Pugh never really fit in and guys like Kam Carter are just troubled journeyman, I guess.

Theyre obsessed with us. Just look at their board with all the Pitt posts...

That's the thing, I don't go to their board, and I don't really care what they discuss.

I think it's a sign of mental illness that someone makes a fake Pitt account to post on this board.

I would think the same if a Pitt fan pretended to be a cult member on their board.

yeah, agree and if Pitt had double digit transfers it would be front page news.
I'm sure a few will move on after spring and frankly that would help certain positions.

The depth chart will be clearer after spring practice so that players who maybe somewhat uneasy about their situations now will be inclined to wait and see how things shake out after Spring ball.

The two big "rumors" seemed to be Ford and Salahuddin. Both proved to have no legs.
The others that transferred were known and no surprises.

Agreed. This is the likely scenario...The most likely positions to see attrition are; WR, RB, DB and possibly the OL

Pitt fans are weird. When psu has transfers, it’s them just cleaninh house and upgrading. When we have transfers, it’s because narduzzi is losing the team.
Because, which team is the more likely to be able to replace their transfers with likely upgrades? The answer dictates the differing judgments you indicated.

OL? Really?
There should be a lot of opportunities there, and young guys as backups.
Unless Drake washes out, which would be extremely disappointing after all the hype.

everyone else is great, we are screwed, I get it.. all these kids getting replaced where part of past recruiting classes that you guys raved about but we wont address that, it would hurt your agenda..

May also be a fair degree of dead wood there which may become even clearer if they bring in a couple of grad transfers....

Perhaps, but how many are on roster, 10? I thought anyway.
After 2 deep and allowing for RS's, etc. doesn't seem like they could stand much attrition.
Don't see 2 grad transfers, maybe 1.

Well, I only say that because the new OL coach has had a year to evaluate the players and may decide that a couple of them need to move on.

I count 16 on roster, with 5 graduating I believe.
That's 11 holdovers not counting this year's recruits.
Only 3 rising seniors, and they are projected as starters.
Rest are Sophs or less. Can't imagine they've fully developed.
Three signees so far in this class would take class to 14, so that's 2 below the status quo.
Can add a grad transfer and still below what we carried last year.
I doubt anyone leaves this group, unless someone totally washes out, ie. Drake.

Yeah I agree that there likely will be transfers after spring practice and perhaps even a few before then. I was more commenting about how some here said there would be a mass exodus and yet not one kid that I now of has indicated hes going to transfer at this point. I do think that if Watson had stayed, we might have seen some WR and even some Rbs leave. I do hope with the new OC they can pick up a TE transfer or late recruit.

Players in the portal now are looking for playing time at other BCS schools. Our transfers will be after spring ball and will be going to lower classifications.

Who were some of the names mentioned in this mass exodus? As mentioned above, Salahuddin and Ford were the only 2 I remember seeing. I would think WR will probably see 1 or 2 go as 11 might be a bit much.

And nobody mentioned Jake Scarton in the portal, he's gotta be pissed!!!

Of course he would be. This will make it easier for players to give the FU to coaches who try and play hard guy with them....and Narduzzi does that a lot. The best thing for coaches to do is cut ties immediately with any player who puts their name in the portal....don't let them advertise themselves for sale and take them back if they couldn't find the buyer they wanted.

Pretty much what Nardawg said at the end of story.

But at the same time, if I don't agree with how a coach is handling me and I don't feel he's making decisions that are in my best interest, why should I sit here and bang my head against a wall when I can dip my toe in the water and see what's out there.

I'm happy at my job and I would think the majority of us on this board as well are. I would also be willing to bet that the majority of us have a linked-in profile. Should our companies fire us for having linked-in?

Depends on the company and the job I suppose.
College football has always been tilted toward the coaches/administration as far as power goes. Coaches and assistants can leave at will, but players have been stuck.
This seems like a small concession to the players.
Coaches are like dictators in their programs. They don't want to have to worry, and want full autonomy and leverage over players.
Nardawg doesn't like the system, but he plays it to strengthen his team.

Here is my list of potential transfers (obviously I don't think all will or wish any of these players negativity)
1. Jeff George Jr - Young QB room and he can't play. Goes to small D1 and starts
2.Michael Smith - Not from the area, lots of young receiver talent. Easier to "wait your turn closer to home"
3. Paris Ford - Highly rated thinks he deserves better. (maybe he does) His on the field play was not spectacular or even stuck out, but hope he stays and succeeds.
4. Shocky - Unhappy with start to bench freshman season. No catches. (Hope he stays I personally like his speed, but doesn't feel to me like a jet sweep kid)
5. AJ Davis - Not talented enough or thinks he deserves better. Don't see this because of the chance to be #1 back.
6. Kollin Smith - Buried in depth chart. Originally a part track part football kid I think. Could go the track way.
7. Sibley - Injury bug ends his playing days. Hope not seems like a great "team" guy.
8. Bricen Garner - recruited over goes to joins Cam Carter.
9. Jerry Drake Jr - Same as Michael Smith.
10. Carter Warren - Top recruit that doesn't play, wild card here
11. Dontavius Butler-Jenkins - not a get sweep kid and lots of WRs in that room all about the same talent. Hope this kid stays seems like a really physical football player.
Really would like to see #'s 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 11 stay the others I would be ok with playing the recruiting game with their scholar ships.

I always look at who may leave by buckets.

Seniors who never played or impacted:
Tipton
Gragg
George
Brown
McKee

Out of that group....Tipton and Mckee

Juniors who may have 1 last shot to play elsewhere:
Davis
Garner
Coleman
Campbell

Out of this group....Garner and Coleman

Youg guys who have been here 2 years and you just never hear about and far from home:
Butler-Jenkins
Smith
O'Neil
Warren
Hallett

Out of this group....Smith, Warren

Any others, they are just home sick or feel flat out screwed, so besides Ford, you can't guess.
