My God, Gueye. Pitt basketball players trying their darnedest to give Will Craig a run for his money.
Ball shot 42% from 2 his rookie year and is shooting 42% from 2 this season
His 3p% has improved
Long distance shooting is where you see the biggest difference. Sam Young at Pitt and his 3-ball is another good example. His 3 point shot was atrocious as a Fr.

a coach can help with free throws imo- because it’s a set shot and a matter of routine
The big thing is Sam worked incredibly hard at it. Used to sleep in the locker room on an air mattress. If a kid wants to become a good shooter he can with time.
We can still win this. Just need to sink one when they unveil the 25-point hoop. Wouldn't recommend Jeffres taking the shot, though.

I mean it takes the time , reps , and more reps
as a hack player/ even just to get better for pickup games as an adult I’d work on 3 moves and shots for an hour a day

I would have been at this game a couple years ago, then glued to the TV when we couldn’t attend in person, and now I am focused on State of the Union and other games. Sad.
Exactly. We don't have a single player on this team that is worth keeping around. Get rid of all of them and do tryouts from kids on the street. Then get a good high school coach to replace this sorry excuse for a coach we have now.

I wish you were right, Gary, and we were getting a new coach. But I doubt we are, unless something happens with Capel doing something illegal or blatantly unethical to force Lyke to fire him for cause. So I fear we have another year of enduring his sheer incompetence and lack of coaching ability and recruiting.
It's embarrassing to the kids on the team. But they're just not very good at all. They aren't an ACC team and the coach isn't a college coach at all...not even close. How could he have prepared the team for this game at all? It as if they did no practice at all leading up to this game. Pathetic.
Maybe most fans there were Duke fans. I doubt many Pitt fans care all that much about what we do now.
We are going to lose 20 games (unless we win the national championship) in year four. That is totally unacceptable.
A move needs made regardless of cost. I think it will be.
Capel's record is reason enough, but his continuous excuse making has to have soured some important donors.
Donors who have achieved success know the look of failure when they see it. They don't want to be around it. They will see it gone.
It didn’t seem like a ton of Duke fans. I think a lot of people came hoping it to feel like a Pitt basketball game again, seeing a good Duke team with Coach on a retirement tour, and hoping for a miracle.
But not a lot of people are passionate enough right now to boo.
I can't tolerate anyone who makes excuses for everything they do. Capel is the epitome of an excuse maker. He needs to go. Lyke has to find a reason to fire him for cause.
You're probably right. Pitt fans have just checked out and are too exhausted to even care now. This has to change before it becomes permanent. This is year 6 now of total incompetence, year 4 for this current coach.
