Harvey is aggressive and shows potential for the future. No matter the score he is trying to push the pace. So many of the Pitt wrestlers save Dom appear timid and fearful of making a mistake.Harvey did a nice job wearing that guy down & Stout came thru as well.
Was Harvey a scholarship wrestler? I don't believe he was announced with a recruiting class, just showed up on the roster before the next season. I believe he had a decent HS record.Wentzel IS clearly stronger than his opponents but that is a double edged sword for him right now. It has always given him a false sense of security. He feels too comfortable in bad positions because he has been able to "horse" himself out of them in the past. Those positions turn in to 4, 5, and 6 point reversals against ranked guys.
Freestyle would help him in terms of making him aware of his back and giving up cheap points.
Re-watch the Duke and SDSU matches and note how close he was to giving up big points.
Stouts was certainly more aggressive than past matches but has a long way to go to match his physical potential. Someone needs to feed him angry pills and make him do squats and power cleans all summer.
The little I have seen of Bruce, he isn't that bad either.
I know I have said it before, but riding, after a certain point is over-rated. To be overly critical here...some of Pitts guys stay perpendicular and hang on like they are afraid and trying to protect something. That kind of riding gets you five minutes of riding time and reversed with 30 seconds left to loose a match 4-3.
Five minutes of riding time where the guy is perpendicular on looks like he loves scoring points. Is a different matter.
Wentzel, Harvey, and Bonacorsi back to back for another three years, is going to be fun.
