Here is not mine by other Website Predictions on the upcoming game. They do a better a comparison than most i read to date. Most are favoring VT because of Defenses, VT Defense is one of the better in the ACC, and Pitt's in one of the worse in the NCAA? It is has simple as that in my view. If Pitt defense finally shows improvements it wins outright and hands down. If not, another close struggle.

This is Pitt's 8th Game, and time to have a Balance Attack On Offense and Defense during this important ACC Toughest Pitt Schedule Run. It is 21st Game, and it is still my opinion, Pitt's Coach Pat Narduzzi is better than PSU's Franklin and WVU's Holgrosen and time to show it Nationally? These 3 next games will define the Pitt Season and can make up for the first 2 losses at OKSU and UNC. Or confirm Coach Pat & Staff still more time to go beyond 7 or 8 Wins should they lose 2 of 3 here. We shall see?

Virginia Tech vs. Pitt Game Preview
When: Thursday, Oct. 27 – 7:00 p.m. ET
Where: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA
TV Broadcast: ESPN

Advantages:

Offense:
Even. Both units are very good, with Pitt averaging 38.4 points per game and VT putting up 35.6 points per contest.

Defense:
Virginia Tech. The Hokies are allowing just 17.9 points per game.

Special Teams:
Pitt. The Panthers received a 93-yard kickoff return from Quadree Henderson in the win over the Hoos.

Coaching:
Virginia Tech. The nod goes to Fuente for having such a strong first-year impact on the program in Blacksburg.

Intangibles:
Virginia Tech. Fuente’s squad knows it can play for an ACC title because it is a complete team, so a win against the Panthers is crucial.

Match-Up To Watch:

VT QB Evans vs. Pitt secondary:
This is a game in which Evans could flourish through the air. If the Panthers are able to generate a pass rush, Evans could beat them with his legs. But if he has time to throw, he could pick apart a secondary that has been struggling all season. Pitt allows almost 300 passing yards per game, putting Narduzzi’s squad at No. 122 in the country in pass defense. As I mentioned, this offense isn’t even fully implemented yet, but I expect Fuente to let Evans take some shots down the field. And if VT can connect on a few big plays through the air, the Hokies will be able to escape the Steel City with a win.

Betting Odds

Spread: Virginia Tech -3.5
Over/Under: No Line (as of post)

I counted like 11 Seniors on their entire roster. Pretty Frosh/Soph heavy. So on that basis I'll go with the more experienced Panthers. But, it will come down to the last play, Pitt 36 VT 34.
Scary thought. Clemson is the youngest team in the ACC. Ouch.

I'm not feeling good about this game. I think the outcome will hinge on whether we get consistent pressure on their QB. Our DB's can't cover me, so if VaTech has time, they will boat race our defense. On offense, we'll put up points, but not in the volume of recent games. Peterman needs to have the best game of his career for us to hang in there. My prediction:

VT 38
Pitt 28

Cruzer

It's sad that some people who make predictions on here always pick Pitt to loose every game, anyway I think Pitt wins if they stop the run,Pitt 38 tech 35

Limit turnovers on offense and allowing big plays on ST by VT. VT has been solid against the run, but they also haven't played a team like PITT who runs the ball really well against an aggressive and experienced OL.

Henderson continues to amaze on ST with another kickoff return for a TD, which proves the tipping point in this game. Conner and Moss have an excellent game in both rushing and receiving (love the screens against the aggressive VT defense). The DL gets plenty of push up front to limit opportunities for shots down the field by Evans.

PITT: 31
VT: 24

I believe (err hope) Pitt figured something out in the second half of the Virginia game when they shut down the pass.

Pitt offense will be slowed a bit by the quick Hokie D. However, Pitt will prevail. Pitt 27, VT 20

This is the first game of the year where I really have no idea what to expect.
We've had some extra rest, and our secondary played a strong 2nd half the last time we were on the field.. So that's encouraging.. But this is a good team we are playing, and they looked great last week.. Fingers crossed for a W.

My optimistic pick:
Pitt 27
VT 24

About what I would figure for this game. I guess we will find out what kind of a team we have after this.

Don't know much, but would love to see a Pitt Game Hunch Win 28-26 if that darn Defense can play a full game. I think the Offense will struggle a tad, but still scores the points.

I would love to see a Peterman Screen Lateral Pass to Orndoff Pass to Weah for a TD! I want to see Whitehead make 2 TDS, Conner on Defense at times, and plenty of sacks, fumbles, and interceptions on VT...making a 38-24 win too?

Just pure guesses with no hunches!

Captain, I would simply like to see Orndoff used to a significant degree in the passing game. He's a very under-utilized weapon. IF they crowd the LOS and he can get a step on the LB's on a seam route...big gainer

My goodness Va Tech lost to Sycacuse, you are making them out to be the Alabama of the ACC.Relax they aren't that good!I said I was done with the Pitt overs because they've run their course,I lied!Pitt over tonight for me o/u 56!Win or lose this is my last bet on overs for Pitt this year! I'm hoping for 6 overs in a row but this might be where it ends, hope not but nothing last forever!

Well, a few days back in another thread I predicted a Pitt loss, but I wont be a douche and now say Pitt will win. I dont think it will be pretty since VT can stop the run (supposedly), but I do think they looked really tired at the end of Syracuse, so maybe we tire them out and pull one out 31-30.

VT has a very good punter by the way, and QHen wont get to return many kicks tonight. Pitt's defense has to click sometime right???? Might as well be tonight. We need more than just Price causing havoc though, need a complete game tonight. Toughest team out there will win.

I hear you LOUD AND CLEAR, but I am not a Coach? Yet, to be fair, PITT has not had any trouble scoring points and OC Canada has done the Best Job I have seen since the 1970-80s......and No One Comes Close!

On the other hand, can you imagine if PITT Defense was able to keep most Teams under 25 Points, how many Quarters PITT could have put in a back Up QB to learn the game and get snaps for next year?????

This is what is my biggest disappointments just behind losing late to OKSU & UNC! If Pitt had the 4th Quarter to add in a Back Up sub QB, it would be great to prepare for next year too.

Yet, on Orndoff, I love this guy, hope Steelers grab him, and he was a QB in High School and has an accurate long throwing arm, maybe they are setting him up for the Clemson game that is where he will needed!

OC Canada has done a great job, and the offense has not be broke so why fix it attitude is my take, others can differ, but think you are correct to, want to see more of the Big ORN, but scoring 30+ points a Game is just fine and dandy!

Would like to see some TDs from Defense too, like last week? But if they just cover, tackle, and stop TDs, I will be happy too!

I don't think anyone can stop Pitt's Running Game, but that is just me. To be fair, besides Clemson this could be the game Pitt gets blown away if they don't get the Defense together. They will run lateral passing and at least 6 to 8 deep throws, and there Tight End can get it too? If the stuff Pitt Offense or hurt Peterman, Pitt loses big time, but unlikely is my pint.

VT has a very good punter by the way, and QHen wont get to return many kicks tonight. Pitt's defense has to click sometime right???? Might as well be tonight. We need more than just Price causing havoc though, need a complete game tonight. Toughest team out there will win.
I agree, but I am no longer Pitt Defense can click anytime this season, so Pitt has to out score to win! It is the 8th game and Pitt Defense is still giving up big points that prevents them winning games by half-Time. Every Game has been a Heart Breaker or Heart Taker and Heart Attack and could all be 7-0, 6-1, 5-2, 4-3, 3-4, 2-5, 1-6! Close Wins & Losses nothing new so far, why expect anything different, but Pitt has had 11 Days to prepare, SO LETS SEE IT!!!!!?

Pitt Toughest Games 2016 My Rank:
10 Toughest Versus 1 Easiest & Coaches Ratings
