Pitt women beat Holy Cross today 67-56.
After scoring 24 in the 1st quarter, Pitt had the same number of points as turnovers in the 2nd quarter — 7. Ouch!

Bright spot seemed to be Exanor, who seems to be coming on offensively. She shot 4-7.

Little production from the centers again. Everett still struggling with her shooting.
Pitt now 9-4. Coach still playing everybody…

Go Pitt.

Some other "bright spots."
1, Harris looked more like
herself. She gave lessons on
how to hit a pull up J.
2. They played somewhat
more in control offensively.
They were still raggedy, but
it wasn't all racehorse.
3. 17 TO's, better than last
game's 27.

I agree about Exanor. She's
going to see more floor
time. At one time she was
inside with King, and no
big on the floor. I'm not
sure what's wrong with
Igbokwe, but she's regressed
the last few games. On
defense we seem to rely
on quickness as opposed
to locking down shooters.
Teams repeatedly shoot
open 3's against us. HC is
no powerhouse, yet they
had open 3's all game long.

I like the depth, and increased
talent, but I feel it's being
wasted. We are more talented
than what we're showing IMO.
Our talent vs theirs should
have resulted in a 20+pt. win.

Maybe. Speaking of "units,"
While watching today I was
wondering if White were
trying to actually platoon.
You hardly ever see that in
basketball like you might in
football or hockey. As you
know, it's usually a rotation
in Bball. White doesn't seem
to have one, or maybe he's
trying to figure one out.

His best players in my mind
are Everett, Harris, King,
Brown, Strouther, and lately
Exanor. Igbokwe would
start with Everett, Harris,
Brown, and King. The other
two would be first off the
bench. That's a seven
player rotation. Hayford
would get time but only
with either Harris or Everett
on the floor with her. Dunn
has to play because of the
need of a backup Center.

They need to tighten up
the D. Run when it's there,
and learn to settle and
work for a good shot. No
look passes by Harris and
Everett don't and won't
work with this group.
Anyway, that's how I see
it at this point.

I thought they were going to blow it.Had that big lead and they cut it way down at one point. But they always seemed to get a basket every time they needed too.

It looked like they might
"blow it." I felt it was more
a result of our loose defense.
They missed a ton of open
3's,.. 7-29, but made enough
to get back in it.

FT's made a big difference in
this game. We were the same
with made FG's, both with 23.
They made more 3's, but we
were 18-23, compared to their
3-7 at the line..

Didn’t see the game but AB had a strange line:
2 assists
3 steals
6 turnovers!!
7 points
8 rebounds

And she only shot 2 foul shots - very unusual for her…
Go Pitt.

Her play didn't look all
that good, but she does
rebound and had 3 steals.
Exanor had another very
good game 11 pts., 3 steals,
4-7 from the field, 100%
from the line. She's getting
more minutes as she should.
