Pitt women beat Cincy

Wasn’t at the game, but I see the Pitt women won 65 to 48. Big game by Bugg. Looks like Walsh and Garvin also played well — but the big surprise is that Cara Judkins had 13 rebounds.

Against YSU the other night, Pitt couldn’t sniff a rebound in the second half - was out-rebounded by 9 in that loss. What’s interesting is that after that game, apparently Coach White had the talk with the team. He talked in post-game comments about Pitt needing to play tougher and how they will get “killed” in ACC play with such poor rebounding...

Whatever Coach White did, to see that Cara Judkins had 13 rebounds tonight against Cincy (against anybody) after getting 3 against YSU, is surprising...

Judkins did have a good game, but Cincinnati is, well, not good. Remember, we beat them last year at their place by 20 points. They really don't have any good bigs on their team either.

Aysia Bugg was the real story tonight. Cincinnati had no answer for her. 2-4 on ones, 6-8 on twos, 3-6 on threes for 23 points. She was getting hers pretty much whenever she wanted it.

One negative, they still turn the ball over way, way too much. 18 turnovers tonight, and much like in past seasons the large majority of them were pretty much unforced errors. Gotta clean that up, hopefully soon.
