Pitt women got a commitment from their third 2022 recruit in Avery Strickland from Tennessee. She’s a 6-foot wing. In a strange twist, Strickland joins guard Marley Washenitz as two players who decommitted from West Virginia and signed with Pitt. They join local recruit guard Ainslin Malcolm.

Looks like Pitt’s looking to improve their shooting - certainly an area that needs improvement.

Still need to find a ready-to-play center to replace Rita.

Yeah, they lost both Rita and Hueston, so wouldn't be a bad idea to add two bigs here. Ezeja and King are fine down low, but they at least need one more person here in this lineup. I like King. Ezeja's more of a backup. And they need a legit big here, too. They have 3 left, so they still have room to move.

I watch a good bit of her film when her recruitment opened up. She is well coached and can do a bit of everything on the court. Kind of like King but with deep shooting range.

Marley was recruiting her to Pitt after her commitment.

For a coach who has been here as long as Capel and who has been just as bad or worse, he seems to have recruited for next season quite well.

Actually the Ohio St.
transfer is a 6'2" forward.
We still need a Center or
at least another big. As
we all know and have
seen, the ACC teams
have legit bigs. The problem
is they aren't exactly out
there growing on trees. We
do need to replace Rita, but
getting a better one, isn't
easy. Coach White has so
far done IMO, a better than
expected recruiting job this
year. He for sure is looking
for that big. Last year he
brought in a transfer,
Mary Dunne. We need much
better. Hopefully White
lands her.
