Well you're right about "fitting right in" given those TO numbers. Point in case,
Faye (who she replaces), led the team in TO's. Given how often she was
double and tripled team, that's not all so bad as she was the focus of our
offense. Faye was ALL ACC, averaged 19 ppg and 10 rpg. Those are great
stats. She wasn't the focus of her previous teams before Pitt. This new
addition, Fatima Diakhate, comes here with a somewhat similar background.
As previously mentioned on here, that might have been Verdi's "sell" to get
her here. She's 6'5" with bulk (is that politically incorrect to say? LOL). She
averaged 5ppg and 5rpg as a starter last year at Georgia, an SEC team.
Those numbers should increase dramatically here. Verdi with a VERY good
move on this one IMO.
The key with this recruit is Verdi hit the portal and is bringing in an
experienced Big. I realize he's bringing in what some are calling our
strongest (from high school) recruiting class, but the reality is they're
Frosh. I've been posting PORTAL, PORTAL, PORTAL, since season's end.
I'd still like to see (if there's room) another transfer or two. An experienced
PG and another Forward or Wing would be perfect.

I believe they have 14 scholarship players as of now. Still wondering why Raeven Boswell hasn't hit the Portal since she's a Senior, you'd think she'd want more PT!!
Here's a couple of guesses why;
1. She likes it here and is happy being a team mate in this program despite little to no playing time.
2. Even with the portal, she might not have any options. No guarantee that she gets a scholarship offer
from another program, even a lower level program.
3. For all we know she might have a soul mate here and won't leave no matter what.
Well, those are just a few off the cuff guesses. No real info here, just guesses. LOL
The turn-around in the level of talent on the women’s team is nothing short of amazing. Have they found a big-time donor?

Maybe she knows she's really not going to play unless she drops way down in level (after all, we are not her first stop), and she figures sticking around and ending up with a Pitt degree in her chosen field will set her up better for her future?
I agree.
I think that is the unspoken tragedy in NIL. People chasing the bag and forgetting that a college education can be beneficial too. I don’t know how it works, but with all of these transfers being announced mid-semester it makes me wonder if there is even a serious attempt to complete coursework or if anybody cares.
