At 9-1-1 (3-0-0), this marks the first time in Pitt women's soccer history that have garnered more than 8 wins. It is also the most ACC wins in program history and the longest win streak in program history.

Admittedly, this may not last as Pitt hasn't played anyone in the top half of the conference yet. But, Pitt was picked dead last in the ACC Preseason Poll.

Pitt next travels to ACC preseason favorite, #3 Florida State, on Saturday Oct 3rd.

Pitt's remaining schedule sees home games against BC, Syracuse, and #1 UVA; and road games against #7 Clemson, #19 Duke, and #10 Virginia Tech.

It is amazing how three recently terrible women's teams have suddenly become good. First, McConnell-Serio turned around the BB program. Then Aprile takes the softball team to the NCAAs. Now, the soccer program is at least competitive in what is by far the strongest conference in the country.

No such good fortune for most men's sports however. Dixon's recruiting has been so bad that even his biggest apologist, Dokish, is tweeting negative comments about him not only not being able to compete with top
programs, but losing a high target to Providence.

Luxbacher won some games against powder puffs but now that the ACC season has started they have reverted to their usual awful form.

Peters can't land almost any of the top local wrestlers and lost last year to UVA, VT and NC State in the final three ACC matches. And now his best wrestler has been kicked off the team after being arrested for some serious crimes.

One has to assume that Barnes is monitoring this closely. The success of the women's programs leaves no excuses for the coaches of the men's teams. I would think the axe will fall after this year on at least two men's coaches.
