I understand we all were frustrated with the defense. 61 is embarrassing and unacceptable, and injuries are piling up. But, Pitt's smallest lead in 2nd half was 15. Would we be happier winning 15-0? We have a history of close games against the 'cuse, last year winning by 3. Let's enjoy the 'historical' win. 8-4 sounds good right now with a bowl game to look forward to.

It's the lack of effort on the defensive side of the ball that bothers me. The offense and defense are polar opposites with respect to attitude. This is why I would really like to see some changes to the staff in the offseason.

There is a serious, serious lack of talent on the defense. Chryst was clueless at bringing in defensive players. His last season was like this season, good enough offense to win at least 10 games if not more, embarrassment of a defense.

I obviously could not predict 61 points from Syracuse, but I doubt they score less than 80 on us with Dungey playing. I mean seriously, that was their backup QB who is not on the same planet as Dungey who is very good.

They actually have a lot of talent on offense, not sure how they only won 4 games. But regardless of their record they have players on that offense, our defense is mostly guys that Chryst took in because there were huge holes at every spot on defense.

Bigger issue is that any style points from the voters went down the drain with the defensive effort today.

The people who say that the basketball players aren't trying don't know what they are talking about either.

Why is it so hard to understand that just because someone doesn't (or can't) play well that doesn't mean that they aren't trying?

Our coach is a defensive guru who will eventually get the D rounded into form. Not worried about that at all. Sure its embarrassing to allow 61 to Syracuse but I don't see this happening two years down the road.

I'm more excited that we somehow landed an offensive guru who NC St was foolish enough to let leave. We just scored 175 points in our last three games, 43 against one of the best teams in the country.

Offense:
Historic Offense In Pitt History Consistent All Year Long Even Miami Game (Two TD Turnovers), Historic ACC Records Conner, Top NCAA Kickoff Returns and develop many Weapons for 2017 with a Team Average of close to 50 points!!!!!!

Special Teams:
Special Teams exceptional all year long both on Receiving and Coverage's with Good Kicking!!!!!!

Defense:
Horrible Defense all year long except Duke Game, even with ACC Price Leadership Sacks & Tackles, and Historic Giving Up Points especially in 4th Quarters with Leads and costing 3 games by 11 Points and could have been 11-1?????

Tougher In 2016 Schedule than 2015:
Clemson, Penn State, OKSU, VT, Miami, UNC, GT! Two Signature Wins!

2017 Schedule:
OKSU lose QB, Miami Lose QB, UNC-lose QB, Penn State-QB Back, VT-QB Back, GT--QB Back, Duke-QB Back, Cuse-QB Back, NCS-QB Back, & will be tougher. UVA, Rice & YSU easier wins!

Coaching:
Coaches in tact and will keep improving. ACC Network rated Narduzzi A-. Bowl Win Time. Bowl Game Win Pending:

Redshirts Coming On Board For Next Year But New QBs, TEs, DLs, LBs, DBs, FGKs, some OLs, but RBs and WRs Back! Players in Pipeline, but will need time to gel together. Losing 19 Seniors big losses at QBs, OLs, DLs, FGKs but return many key contributors next season. How the New QB does is key and have to OC Canada see how fast he can develop them together.

However, the Defense must come together, I don't think I can take another year of this kind of Defensive Drama. I mean almost every QB that played against Pitt set Team Game Records. I know it will get better, but i thought that all year long, and the worst Defensive Game was played on the 12th game???? Nevertheless, The Pitt Defense Game Plans did shut down the Run most of the Games, and were still Good Plans, but Pass & Tackling Execution should be better next year, if the games are still close.

If I had to label this year of Pitt, it would be, "The Pitt Year Of Historic Records"!

Finally, no one can doubt these Coaches, Players as a Team are having fun together and enjoying each other, and come to play every game, with Great Game Plans and still won 8 Games, beating 2 Teams in the Top Ten, and losing to 3 others in the Top 25! And Bowl Awaits?

It was one of those games. Sometimes these things happen during shootouts, it just so happens it went to the extreme. Neither team really gave much effort on defense.
