Yeah, agree ...... going to take 2-3 years of good recruiting and coaching but I think we'll get there.

I didn't see the any matches before 165, but I was not very impressed. Wentzel and Solomon looked decent, but Bell and Stout were really unimpressive. Stout, in particular, really didn't have much of an offensive plan on his feet and looked to have no chance to escape on bottom. I really hoped to see more potential out of him.

Is Bentley back yet? Did he wrestle?

It's beating the same drum, but it's like every other Pitt sport: they gotta recruit better.

I'm being Mr. Obvious, but....the talent is in our area....our coaches have to prevent other schools from coming into Pennsylvania and cherry-picking the better wrestlers.

Parrot, Gavin just announced his first 4 recruits, 3 from the "recruiting hotbed" you mention, and typical of the kids we weren't getting before. Add Phillipi to that and we're off to a great start.

PA has been dominant for sure, but times are changing. Better understand how economics is affecting migration. Lots of people from Pennsylvania, Michigan and New York moving south away from high tax states.

Pittsburgh and the surrounding area IS a big advantage for Gavin and company but it is not a slam dunk. People better keep an open mind and not rest on ones (or someone else's) Laurels.

Yeah, I saw that. Heck, I wouldn’t mind seeing Pitt get a few decent transfers, too, if only to jump-start the re-build.

I was planning to fly in but I had minor hand surgery yesterday and I'm sitting here with my arm in a sling typing with one hand. Yeah, I know, TMI, so the short answer is regrettably, no.

Please. With the possible exception of Matthews, whose ranking varies considerably between wrestling sites, the PA kids are ranked pretty much where Bell, etc. were ranked nationally. Let’s not act like he is suddenly getting the top kids in PA. He isn’t. Maybe he will in time but not in this class. Look at the Flo Wrestling rankings. Davis is our highest ranked recruit and he is ranked 8th I believe. Matthews is the only other recruit ranked in the top 15 in his weight class. UNC has 7 recruits listed in the top 15 in their weight classes, including one ranked #2 and one ranked #3. UVA and NC State both have more ranked kids than us. For NC State that is coming off a year where their class was ranked in the top three nationally, so they had few scholarships this year. VT also had a top class last year and very few slots open this year.

The kid I like the most in the class is the kid from Ohio, but I have seen limited video on him and neither Intermat or Flo Wrestling are that high on him.
