Pitt will likely see a lot of zone defenses until it proves able to defeat them primarily with the 3-ball, IMHO.

The VMI game showed that trend. Only up 21-18 after going 0 for 7 on 3s over the first ~15 minutes. Then went 12 for 21 on 3s and outscored VMI 72-30 over the next 25 minutes.

A quality opponent with good size playing zone will be a real problem when the 3 ball isn't falling for Pitt.

Yeah, the twins and Austin are serviceable there but too inconsistent.
Not sure yet about the euro guy, but hopes dwindling.

The hype for Delalic was always overdone. He wasn't going to come over here and be one of our better players. I know the injury has slowed him down, but it was always logical to think it would take him some time to adjust to a different style of basketball.

And it was always logical to assume that a proven 5th year senior in Dunn was going to be far more impactful than Delalic, yet we had folks who thought Dunn would be taking a back seat.

The roster is solid and deep which allows them to bring Delalic on slowly. It will take some time to adjust.

Pitt got in some early foul trouble last night, but bounced back. VMI is also a fairly decent 3 pt team coming in to that game, so Pitt also limited that threat. I don’t know why people rip on Delalic. He has a 2:1 Assist to TO ratio and is 43% from 3 so far. He has been open and players dont pass to him to shoot.
