I don't see Ohio beating W Michigan, but yeah, that is certainly possible. I think UF will get a lot of leeway if they stay within even 20 of Alabama, so that might be the hardest one to see us jumping, even though they are the most likely to lose and get throttled in the process.

VT could drop out. I don't think Navy drops out with a loss to Temple but they could. That said, even if they do, Temple sneaks into the ranking. WMU will not lose to Ohio. WVU will not lose to Baylor. FLA will not drop out with a loss to Bama.

And they made it abundantly clear Ohio State is in and Penn State has essentially no chance despite what some ( @steel_curtain ) might have preached.
If thye get in that messes up the whole playoff system and the theory that the best four get in. You cannot be third in your conference and 2nd best in the country. that means it should be Alabama vs the Big Ten because the two teams in the championship should get in as well.

Serious question... Does anyone know or what a link to what the rankings would be if the BCS still existed?

Its winter so I'm going out on thin ice and predict:

PITT wins it bowl game big
Nitters lose big to Wisconsin and lose their bowl game. Their luck has run out!

The final rankings will have the Nitters, PITT and Hoopies very close to one another!

No it doesn't. They lost 1 game. They lost a tiebreaker for their division. They tied for 1st in that division with PSU. Michigan finished 3rd in that division.

You can certainly lose 1 game (in division, even) and still be the 2nd best team in the country, ranked ahead of the team you lost to, despite not winning the division. Now, I don't think Ohio State is clearly the #2 team in the country, but their loss to PSU doesn't preclude them from the possibility that they are. Losing to PSU doesn't mean PSU is better than them. It means they lost vs PSU when they happened to play. I think most rational fans would expect them to win that game 8 out of 10 times and at worst 7. Unfortunately for them, they got caught on one of those 2 or 3 times.

There is no way you can make a case for PSU being more deserving than tOSU, if the goal of the playoff is to select the 4 best teams (even if subjective) I think some of you guys are putting WAY too much emphasis on a tiebreaker.

That's why some Pitt fans believe Walt Harris left us BCS caliber program because we won a 4-way tiebreaker in a 7 team conference.

Only way PSU gets in is if Clemson AND Washington lose and PSU wins. The committee chair was very clear about it on the show that they see OSU and Michigan as better teams than PSU. He actually said Michigan even after their loss is barely behind Washington.
