-Duke starting QB is now out for the entire season, blew his leg out again

-Miami has now kicked off its top 2 starting lb's and tacklers from last year, kicked off the team for a rental car company scam. Their number 2 WR blew his leg out in camp. Their top RB is suspended. And their #1 WR may also be thrown off the team for the rental car scam. Gerald Willis is also suspended. Nice offseason for these guys, the most overrated team in the country entering this season. They just got crushed.

-Oklahoma State's #2 WR is out with a broken foot until October.

-North Carolina's starting left tackle is done for the season with a torn leg, he had 17 previous starts

Hate to see any injuries honestly, I'd rather them have stayed healthy and us too. Basically seems the ABC in general is banged up. Miami should have done the notre Dame thing and slaps them on the wrist. Which they probably will do with the wr.

With the closed nature of our camp I don't think we know the extent of any injuries on our team. We know Hamlin is out only because the local media and fans are so inquisitive on his status. If say.... chase pine was hurt we would never know

-Those Miami losses are crippling. Miami lost all 4 secondary starters from last year, 2 of them to the NFL. Now the Top 2 defensive players on the entire team from last year in the LB positions in tackles and sacks are thrown off the team. They now return a paltry 4 starters from last year on defense, and their defense was bad last year, and terrible against the run. This team has zero business being ranked outside of playing a creampuff schedule this year. Their offense is taking hits too. If Coley gets thrown off the team, their WR core is in major trouble. The hype on this team should be dead moving forward.

Pretty big help. I remember Duke's QB being good, UNC had the only OL as good as Pitt's, and Richt's teams aren't know for defense as it is.

-Juwon Young also kicked off the Miami team, now transfers to Marshall. So Miami has kicked off their starting 3 LB's from last season, Wow. That hurts big.

Still a tough Cutcliffe is one of the best having his players ready to play, can't underestimate them, but you are correct.

Richt has talent and by the time he plays Pitt they will have some games under their belts? But good news nonetheless.

They have 4 great Wideouts not just one, but that helps. If Pitt can defend against PSU Wideouts in game two, it bodes well for Pitt against OKSU. Some say OKSU ha some of the best WRs Corp this year?

-North Carolina's starting left tackle is done for the season with a torn leg, he had 17 previous starts
UNC Best returning group are their Wideouts and Switzer?

If Pitt can have decent Pass Defense Covering early, Pitt can be 4-0, if not could be 1-3 or 2-2? Hamlin out hurts very much!

-The only reason Duke has been better the last 3 years is because they played the worst crossover games in the entire ACC the last 3 years with Wake Forest, BC, and Syracuse. They are not good. They are lucky and took advantage of a schedule that helped them win. Duke will fall off the map now. Now with playing crossover games with Louisville, Clemson, and Florida State in the future, Duke will go back to getting beat up on the field.

-As for Miami, they now replace their entire secondary, entire starting lb core, and 1 starting lineman, and they had the worst run defense in the ACC, and one of the worst in the country. Vegas put them at 6.5 wins. Im tempted to take under, they are going to get roughed up bad now despite a horrible schedule. No way they compete for a ACC Title now, no chance at all. They are completely dead at lb.

-Who are the 4 great wideouts for Oklahoma State? They lost 2 to the NFL last year, plus one is out to injury. Their 2nd best wideout as it stands today, put up 300 yards last year and 2 TD's. That's almost equal to Zach Challingsworth.

-North Carolina has talent on its line. Their offense will still be good. But it wont be as good now when you lose a guy that started 17 games prior.

No team's perfect. But when that many players are getting the boot, it's time to start questioning a team's recruitment screening.

Pitt went thru such a period, and Sports Illustrated took Pitt to task for it. Will they do the same with Miami?

I am not sure about that SC, Coach Cutcliffe is a fine coach, plus go to Duke Recruiting ranks the last few years. I do not think Duke is a Doormat anymore, they will give you a good game.

Pitt should beat this Team this year based on your info!

OKSU was 7th Offense & in passing, 22nd overall, and averaged 39.5 points per game returns all back and SI has them nation’s one of the toughest. QB Mason Rudolph, is a junior should be more consistent with a great receiving corps James Washington going deep and senior Marcell Ateman. Two others are coming back as well.

UNC receiving corps includes playmakers Ryan Switzer, Mack Hollins and Bug Howard.

Again, Pitt is facing some of Best Experience Wideouts its first 3 of 4 games, PSU, OKSU, and UNC? the DBS have to be ready early in my view and slip ups can be the difference between in 1-3, 2-2, 3-1, 4-0!

-Miami's kicker also thrown off the team, and a decision will be made on Stacey Coley, about the only WR they have left.

-With all this turnover, Braxton Berrios is Miami's 11th leading tackler returning from last season. He is a 5'7 backup WR. He had 6 tackles. LOL

-Marshall- Tiquan Lang kicked off the team for drug possession and gun charges, reported yesterday. He was a 1st team All Conference USA selection and early conference POY selection, Marshall's best player, and Marshall's returning leading tackler with 92 tackles on defense last year with multiple pick 6's.

-Giant loss to Marshall who already lost 8 redshirt senior defensive starters from last year.

Let's not talk about other teams losing players. We've been thru too many instances where we lose multiple key players all in a short time period. our karma hasn't been that good.

Thanks for the updates Steel. It's nice to hear information about our other 10 opponents and not just 1. Keep it up!

I disagree, i want to know who is playing and who won't be playing, it decides games? No offense intended either, your opinion is just as valid.

-Its not my fault half of Miami's defense got thrown off the team for being complete dumbasses and thugs. Its not my fault Marshall's best player was thrown off the team for having drugs and a gun. I couldnt give a rats ass about either team, but Miami's defense is going to be flat out garbage now.

-Louisville puts a clinic on Marshall now. Their defense is going to be bad too. This is like Pitt losing Whitehead for the season, imagine that.

-Ironically, its not like these are even "small" losses.

-Duke lost its most important player by a landslide at QB and has no replacement

-Marshall lost its best and most important player on defense

-And Miami, well, they just lost its best 2 defensive players overall, all 3 lb's, and will now have 3 freshmen playing at lb across the board with zero backups or depth. Miami might not even be able to play a 4-3 defense now, they have no one to play, literally no one. They are officially crippled as a team on defense.

-This all happened literally within 2 days time. Almost crazy, and who knows what else has happened, this is just what I found so far.

I like you speak your mind, don't back down, and still stand by remarks with good links that back you up like this one.....
Two prominent defensive playmakers are done in Coral Gables
Miami has dismissed its top returning pass rusher and leading tackler from 2016 for a violation of NCAA rules, the school announced on Saturday.

Defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad and linebacker Jermaine Grace will no longer be a part of the Hurricanes' football program after allegedly receiving impermissible benefits from a rental car agency in South Florida.

"The University of Miami announced today that red-shirt junior Al-Quadin Muhammad and senior Jermaine Grace have been permanently dismissed from the Hurricanes football program for violating NCAA rules," the statement reads.

"The University will, however, continue their financial aid through graduation. The decision was made in consultation with outside counsel and after discussions with the NCAA enforcement staff. As no staff members or boosters were involved in the violations, the program will not be subject to sanctions and, at this time, the University deems this matter closed."

-North Carolina has talent on its line. Their offense will still be good. But it wont be as good now when you lose a guy that started 17 games prior.
Just FYI, our injured OLman, John Ferranto, opened camp as the starting RG, but ultimately he was not expected to maintain that spot. His value to the team was his unselfish versatility. He could play across the entire line, save for center. He provided depth at both tackle and guard spots. That's where his loss will hurt -- depth. On the other side of the ball, our DL is banged up right now....and, you know, we face that Chubb guy in 6 days. That's not terrifying at all!

I agree with the thread though, the Coastal is banged up. It's already a poor division and doesn't need any help being worse than it already is. Any noteworthy Pitt injuries right now?

North Carolina big injury #2 to the defense

Dajuan Drennan, started last 25 games on the line, was in a boot earlier this month. His timetable for return this season is questionable and he's nowhere on the depth chart

-Nick Chubb is going to rip this team Saturday in the run game. But I want Carolina to win.

So far we have been blessed for the first time since I can ever remember. But, we usually lose an AA in the first 2 weeks each year too, so I am not saying anything.

Miami

Trent Harris breaks hand today, out indefinitely. Matt Patchan also has a torn ACL.

Miami's backups are now out to all the players kicked off the team on defense.

Bring on the walkons for the Canes, because they have nothing left.

Injuries are the worst. I don't wish them on anyone on any team. I think that our matchup against y'all in Chapel Hill this year will be an intense affair and could potentially decide the Coastal, much like last year's game did.

North Carolina big injury #2 to the defense
Big injury #1. Everyone else will be back for the opener on Saturday.

Yes, Drennon is our best DE and DE is by far and away our weakest (in terms of quality) and thinnest position group. It is very likely that Chubb has a field day against the Heels on Saturday, I agree. I'll be in the Georgia Dome among the sea of red.

But yeah, with respect to injuries, we cannot afford any more along the defensive line. It will cripple us this season.

Once again, Steel is going over the top. I don't wish injuries on any team. Not only that I would like be beat them at full strength.
