Got an email saying no tickets are available. Ticketmaster says its sold out. But of course there's going to be many tickets available in the secondary market

I don't know when you looked, but earlier tonight there were a lot of tickets available on the secondary market through your favorite company, Ticketmonster.

Ticketmonster is the NCAA's ticketing partner. They had tickets for as low as $54 when I looked earlier.

Ticketmaster resale was way cheaper than Stubhub so I got them on TM. Fees were $78 total for 2. I am going to write my congressman because I had no other choice but to pay it. I couldn't have just opted to not pay and not go. You know how I feel, I think these companies should be able to charge as much in fees as they want if people will pay it. Its Capitalism. I have no remorse for Taylor Swift fans who couldn't get tickets because TM priced them too cheap causing them to sell out in minutes.

It’s not capitalism, it is a monopoly, hence the bipartisan push to do something about it. There needs to be competition to reduce the fees.

There are other companies that sell primary market tickets. And there is nothing stopping you or me from starting our own company to challenge TM. And the NCAA or whichever can sell tickets direct to consumer on their websites without the middleman. If you want to investigate TM, investigate them for WHY they are so popular. Is it bribes/kickbacks? Because everyone loves using them.

Which other site directly provides access to live ticket sales? Maybe Live Nation. But nearly all artists and acts use Ticketmaster. There are plenty of second hale sites, but not primary access.

I also remember when we used to get paper tickets and the fees did something…Now it is all mobile. There is no reason why different ticket prices should have different fees that exponentially go up with the cost of the ticket when everything is mobile based. I’m glad you are going though! Hopefully will be well worth it!

Ticketmaster owns most of the other companies on line too and they all charge a ton of fees.

Best bet is to go to the game and buy tickets there, or even try dayton area craigs list day of the game which is risky

As much as I hate the fees, both Ticketmaster and stub hub have the fan guarantee. Not sure I would trust a street scalper these days, but you could get lucky with people with extra tickets.

Seat Geek has both primary and secondary market tickets. The Cavs use them for both markets. There's another one that I used for A10 tickets when it was in Pgh. I never heard of it and thought it was a reseller because it sounded like one but on investigation I learned it does both markets.

Interesting tidbit, but good publicity nonetheless for those still disappointed that play-in does not equal tourney:

From my knowledge

Louis CK has been the only artist to successfully not make his fans use ticketmaster and he created his own seat and online streaming from his own website

There are some local venues who do their own down here (Jax) and so much nicer to only pay like 5 bucks. But no solution for the huge touring or sports acts.
