It would be a slap in the face to everyone who owns a television for these sluggards to receive another second of air time after next week. For the sake of optical decency, let this season expire as soon as possible.
As frustrated as I am Pitt should never ever turn down a bowl game. The extra practices and playing time for younger kids is just way too valuable. Plus I feel the coaches are responsible for this let down. Why penalize the kids who more often than not have not been put into position to playing winning football since the California game. Even the Syracuse game was a blowout more because the defense made some out of this world plays more than a consistent offensive or defensive game plan.
I get the frustration. But they are good players. They started the season 7-0 and should have beaten Clemson and Virginia. They could practice every day from now until 2030. They're not good players.

The bigger issue is they are not good coaches! They could practice every day from now until 2030. They're not good players.
Dozen eggsI would love to know what Narduzzi scribbles down in that stupid notepad all game. I have never seen another D1 coach do that.

I think I saw Lane Kiffin doing that and I'm pretty sure Greg Schiano does it all the time.I would love to know what Narduzzi scribbles down in that stupid notepad all game. I have never seen another D1 coach do that.
Just stated this in another thread, but I'll go with it again here... SMU, Louisville, and Clemson have a lot more material than Pitt. If Clemson didn't have a patchwork OL, that game would have been a beatdown loss too. Pitt had a huge talent advantage over Kent State & YSU. Once you get past that, Pitt is fairly evenly matched with every other opponent on the schedule in terms of talent. (just my opinion, but I think UNC has a little more than us, and UVA a little less, but that's starting to split hairs.)I get the frustration. But they are good players. If we continue to recruit no better than the current Mickey mouse offensive lineman we are taking that nobody else wants, we might want to consider joining the MAC. It's just so damn bad that it's impossible to compete at this level. They could practice every day from now until 2030. They're not good players.
The coaching was terrible today. If you don’t sustain drives early you aren’t going to win. If there are deficits in talent, coach around it. Don’t keep callling the same plays all year at the same times. Bell coaches like I’m sure he did at Western Carolina when he did have superior talent. You can’t be that obvious at this level. It’s so obvious we all know what’s coming on every down and drive. So it’s not going to be a surprise for opponents that have a decent coaching staff that has weeks of tape to review what we do every game. I get Louisville might have marginally more talent. But it’s not that extreme. I mean they have lost 4 games including Stanford just last week. I refuse to believe Stanford has a significant talent advantage over us. You only keep bringing up talent so you can basically ridicule anyone who has the audacity to believe Pitt should be able to compete. Thats ridiculous. The talent gap isn’t as extreme as you say it is that Pitt can’t beat teams in our conference. We literally beat this team last year when we were 3-9.Just stated this in another thread, but I'll go with it again here... SMU, Louisville, and Clemson have a lot more material than Pitt. Pitt has some good young talent on defense and Holstein shows a lot of promise. The problem is that some schools with a bigger NIL budget are going to pick off some of the best young guys, and Pitt is going to be left budget constraint shopping to plug holes or find replacements, unless we plug them in with development guys from our Top 30 to 60 ranked recruiting class. Then it's wash, rinse, repeat after that. That's going to be true regardless of whether the coach is Narduzzi or someone else. Roughly half the league is going to have a significant talent advantage over Pitt every year.
Sometimes college teams full of 18-23 year olds are inconsistent and play like shit. Louisville had one of those games last week. They practically gave game way.The coaching was terrible today. First, I have to say the Clemson game sucked any life left out of our team. Having said that, I think the talent disparity is quite large when it comes to the line of scrimmage. We got our asses beat badly on both sides of the ball. Our lines are really bad. Since the start of the SMU game we have been beaten up on both lines each game. When Virginia pushes you around, you know you have serious issues. The coaching was terrible today. If you don’t sustain drives early you aren’t going to win. How many do you see on Louisville??? This is ridiculous nonsense that I guess you think if you say enough we would all start believing.Sometimes college teams full of 18-23 year olds are inconsistent and play like shit. Louisville had one of those games last week. They practically gave game way.
And no, you can't just "coach around" talent deficits. And yes, the talent level between Pitt and Louisville is significant.
Pitt's offense is talent deficient. How many players on Pitt's offense do you see going on to to have productive NFL careers?

I understand there are a handful of teams in the B10 and SEC that have significant more money and talent than the rest of the college football. But that’s not what we are dealing with here.
Totally agree, NIL $$$$. Hope this new AD increases the NIL. I've heard good things about him and the reason he was hired. H2PJust stated this in another thread, but I'll go with it again here... I thought their DE, Gillotte (sp?) was the best player on the field today.Louisville has a decent amount, at least on offense.
