This was a Superb Broadcast and tough to augment in any way. If Pitt Coach Narduzzi with Charlie Partridge can use all their knowledge to prepare the Defensive Ends, Linebackers and Tackle talent into dependable experience early that can be the difference between a special 10+ Win Season in 2017, in my opinion. This will make the Defensive Back field and Safeties so much better. You were so spot on what needs to improve in a hurry with little time to learn it, so it early depends on, film room studying, increase talent being able to be coach up much like when Hugh Green and Rickey Jackson came in together at Dynamite Freshmen that just knew how to play right away and both were missed as Hidden Recruits by Top Programs.
Pitt young LBs, DEs, and DTs, going up against Penn State's Trace McSorely, OKST Mason Rudolph, and GT Justin Thomas so early is a just a tall task that only great coaching and game planning can enhance and very hard to do. Yet, this is Pitt 3rd Year in learning, adapting, and taking in the Narduzzi Defense Coaching with far more talent and back ups unlike in 2015-16. It only takes 2 to 3 Special Players that improve so soon they help cover for mistakes of others. I admit it is akin to being so rare in striking lighting but it has been done sometimes. Whether it can happen in 2017 is exactly as you say and unknown early but will be better later. I am always too optimistic every season on Pitt, but I can't escape an odd feeling.....this is may be a bigger surprise that is shows up early in 2017 even against these Great OCs & QBs at PSU, OKST, and GT and why I have a a Hunch in can be done!
If my Hunch is Wrong then Pitt's only hope to win those first 3 early games after YSU, falls to Pitt OC Watson and how fast he can choose and adapt the New QB, TE, and RBs to his "Watson-Canada System" calling the right plays at the exact right times and out scoring PSU, OKST, and GT with like you said, Great Wideouts loaded with Talent and Diversiity. As you stated, the Offensive Linemen are able and ready to do their part, but those Game Plans, Game Day Play Calling, and Precise Execution must be just as good in 2017 as in 2016. Until the Defense can catch up with Experience? All unknowns and we shall see soon on Spring Football? It is tough to believe and see if Browne can be that good so soon too? Still, that is also dependent on OC Watson helping to do it too. Just a Guess on that because we need a foretaste to see it on Thursday and until August?
Special Teams is also breaking in a New FG Kicker and that unknown could impact early too, one way or another, if the games are close, just like last year. Still, on Kick & Punt Returns the Opponents will prepare even better to defend against Pit's Special Teams & Henderson, but he seems to break through them no matter how much they prepare, but he is no longer a secret as an Unanimous All American.
