With the 25 point win over Davidson, our ranking in Pomeroy jumped from 32 to.... 23.
We will see if we are in the top 25 when those polls next come out.
Sagarin should jump too.
Sagarin now has us as #18Yes. Probably from #24 to high teens (16? 17? 18?).

Another interesting thing to note is that of the 20 teams ahead of Pitt, 11 of them are ranked lower offensively. None are ranked lower defensively.
So as much as people seem enthused about the offense and as much as that is the focus, it's still the defense that will define whether they're pretty solid or potentially elite.
Sagarin has Cuse currently at #71 while Pomeroy has them at #48.
I think Cuse is down this year and may indeed not make the NCAA Tourney... particularly with Boeheim's suspension coming up.... but I don't think they are as low as #71.
The Sagarin point difference between #48 and #71 is relatively trivial anout 1.8 points which is less than the Sagarin home court advantage. In other words #71 at home would be slightly favored over #48. There are many fairly decent teams crowded between about #40 and #80. and the home team in that group will have enough home court advantage to be favored.
Even if Cuse is #71 the difference from Pitt at Sagarin #18 is only about 4 at Cuse and 10 in Pittsburgh. This is well within potential upset territory especially at the "dome."
If you believe Boeheim isn't having input into their practices and communicating somehow with the team, I have a bridge to sell you.Whats the value of not having Jim Boeheim? He is getting monitored and cant even have contact with the team, including practices. He will not be at the Pitt game.
Pitt is going to blow Syracuse out of the gym.
Syracuse has completely sucked since he got suspended. If you believe Boeheim isn't having input into their practices and communicating somehow with the team, I have a bridge to sell you.
I guarantee he is talking to his coaches multiple times each day, watching film of every practice, and directing what they do.
I wouldn't be surprised if he has notes being passed down to the bench during games either.
If you think Jim Boeheim has the scruples to be honorable and not try to find a way around the suspension, you're nuts. Jim Boeheim is as slimy as Bill Bellichek.
