This tailspin has done more than tick off a fan base that is already shrinking. Usually a team with a strong returning D and a returning QB will be ranked in the summer polls and rags. This won't happen now and will hurt recruiting and tix sales. Gonna have to shut down Sanders and Co. to get the pub and rankings. My opinion of course.

Yep. The Week 2 game will be the measuring stick. PSU may not have Sanders as he might opt for the NFL, but they may not lose much there. Stevens or Clifford will both be good replacements for McSorely. Honestly, PSU will have a young secondary that can be beaten, but Pitt won’t have the passing game to give them fits.

Not that it matters, but UPS will be our 3rd game next year--ACC game in week 1 8/31 (remember the Delaware game was moved to accommodate this), Ohio in week 2 9/7, at UPS in week 3 9/14, then UCF in week 4 9/21. Could be a tough opening few weeks next year

Ah correct.

PSU’s defense will again be good I’m sure, and how much hope do we have for an offense that was atrocious down the stretch and loses basically their entire o-line + both 1,000 yard rushers?

Then again, I was more optimistic about the game against them this year and we all saw how that went. So who knows.
