Preach, Michael Keaton!

Why would the Steelers take the blame when San Diego, Kansas City and LA Rams were all supposed to be light years better than the Steelers with hot shot qb's and strong defenses and couldn't get it done?

Ahhhh maybe because they shat away another chance to win the SB, w a HOF QB and a team chalk box full of stars.

So it's the team who didn't qualify for the playoffs fault, not the 3 teams that actually played the Pats? Uh, ya....that make sense.

It’s the way they didn’t qualify.....did you watch the last 5 weeks of the clown show?

All goes back to that tie game. That was the setup for the Steelers.

And yes, the Steelers were stacked with talent but completely blew every opportunity.

The Super Bowl was the first NFL game I watched all year.

I watched a couple of minutes when the Steelers were playing a few times to see James, but that was it.

All the Steelers needed was for their kicker to perform like he did last year, or even close to how he performed last year, and they very well may have been in the SB instead of NE.

They lost all the close games they won previously because they did not execute the FG kicking game.

It wouldn't have been pretty, but they'd have won at least 3, maybe 4 more games with key kicks being made.

And remember, they DID beat NE late in the season, so there's that.

Bingo!

Even with an offense that was as talented as any in the league they couldn't put teams away because of their own stupidity, from front office to the field goal kicker.

They did beat the Patriots. Interestingly, all 5 teams that beat the Patriots this year, didn't make the playoffs.

Don't forget James Conner's fumble! That was huge in that game.

They won 4 more last year and still failed miserably. The FG kicker made them all last year and they still found a way to blow it. It’s like what Colin Cowherd beautifully puts it. The Steelers every year has the most talent in the league. Every year they have an invitation to the big date with New England in the playoffs, but every year, they find a way to not show up. Its never the Patriots in their way. The Steelers fail because they don’t coach and play well enough so that guys like Chris boswell, Blake bortles, Tim Tebow, Joe flacco, Al Riveron, or Tyrod Taylor beat them.

Because they weren’t supposed to be light years better.

Steelers are picking up Kareem hunt and winning the SB. You heard it here first.

Michael Keaton’s real name is Michael Douglas.

New England beats teams at the line of scrimmage. They protect Brady and hammer the opposing qb. Pittsburgh would have gotten embarrassed had they gone to New England instead of the Chargers.

It was a big deal. But at the time I said that he should not have gotten 31 carries in a game. I don't think that any back, in today's game, can withstand 31 carries in an NFL game.

The Steelers ran the ball 35 times that game, 31 were James, 3 were Ben and 1 for Switzer.

Plus, the Steelers had 6 turnovers in the game, two were fumbles by Roethlisberger, after the fumble by James. And also a missed FG.

Spot on.

JC is not durable, really need to get Kareem Hunt so we can bring JC off the bench for like 10-12 carries a game.. I'd rather see JC in a backup role for 5-6 years than as a starter for 2.. Steelers need to find a durable RB, for their sake and for JC's..

So the purpose of the thread was not to talk about who should have prevented the Pats from winning the SB, it was to talk about the Steelers underachieving again. Big miss on my part.
