Prediction: Steelers will play in the Super Bowl (this season).

Pretty hot take-y at this point but not impossible.

Remember when people on this board wanted to trade TJ Watt instead of paying him and thought it was crazy to pay Alex Highsmith? Those 2 were almost entirely responsible for being 1-0 in division. It's pretty simple: pay good players, especially QB, WR, OT, pass rush, or pass coverage.

Lol 😅 every year I hear this crap. Plzzz stop watt is another injury away from tearing pecs again. Also this should be OT subject. Isn't there an NFL board to chat about stillers????

I just saw a study a few weeks ago that looked at player salaries for conference champs over the last decade or something. The importance of well paid edge rush was way down the list. I’ll see if I can find it.

Canada is going to have to make some adjustments, but I think by the end of this year the Steelers will be pretty good as the OL eases in Broderick and they gel and Kenny gets it going. Go ahead and save this thread.
Technically they are playing in the Super Bowl stadium next week. If you squint real hard you could say your prediction is accurate.

Good stuff, @HailtoPitt. Keep it up! Hope you win.

Technically he did not say they would be playing in the Super Bowl this year. I think it is a pretty good bet that at some time in the future the Stillers will play in the Super Bowl.

That's probably some silly interpretation of "edge rusher" because guys like Aaron Donald and Chris Jones don't qualify and conference championship is a weird and arbitrary standard.

I said that you pay "pass rush." Doesn't have to be edge specifically. And anyway, of the top 5 sacks leaders in the NFL last year, 3 played in the conference championship. In 2021 it was 3 of 8. That's more predictive than passing yards leaders making the conference championship 3 of 10 (2022) and 3 of 12 (2021).

You need to be able to make the QB uncomfortable to win. That's just a fact. The Steelers lose by double-digits last night without their edge rushers.

Yeah but Cleveland has edge rushers too. So without them to the Steelers O would have been more productive.
