I'm sure the team is feeling confident after last week's comeback, but after the first play on Saturday that all goes away.
I don't have that much confidence in Pitt's defense yet , although I am liking how Rasheem Biles is playing.
West Virginia will come prepared. I think Kade Bell will have a few wrinkles up his sleeve.
I hate giving predictions, just wandering what everyone thought ?
I think it will come down to the last quarter, and hopefully Pitt will pull it out .

Coming into the year I figured WVU was a top 40-ish level type. And they still might be.

But they have been one of the worst offensive and defensive teams so far when looking at EPA.

So it’s difficult to know what to expect going into the game? Do we get the WVU team that is absolute bottom tier in ‘24? Or something closer to what they probably can be? If it’s the former, I feel good about a win. If it’s the latter, should be within a one score game either way.

WVU and FSU are the only two teams that have been legit bad at everything so far this season.

So if you’re Pitt or even Memphis, you feel really good about this weekend if that continues. But I also don’t think either team is one of the two worst P4 teams. So does it continue this weekend?

Like the rest of you, I think it's still too early in the season to really make an accurate prediction.

My heart wants to say that something clicked for Eli and the offense in the second half last week.....but I think we're still in 'wait and see' mode. And I think the defense is still a big question mark...especially the secondary.

Having said that: I want to say Pitt pulls off the win......but I've been a Pitt football fan for 45 years and know better than to count on a win.

Hope I'm wrong but no way we go undefeated in OOC for 1st time ever with this team. I have a feeling we are closer to the level we showed for the 1st 3 quarters vs Cincy than the last one. I dont think WVU is any good but dont see how this is the year we go undefeated in OOC. Plus, I dont see us stopping the run. Kiner looked like Barry Sanders last week.

WVU 34
Pitt 27

I don't think either fan base knows what kind of team they have this year. Hence the lack of trolls this year...

It will be a tough, tight game this year... I'll say:

Pitt 31
WVU 26

Only because I think Pitt's passing is a little better... But if Pitt can't do a better job stopping the run, it could go the other way...

They'd still have Youngstown lol.

Pitt’s Dline and corners look like a problem - unless the young guys come on.

The Pitt offense will need to win this game by scoring in the 40’s, IMHO.

It’s possible…

Go Pitt.

I don’t think either team will stop each other defensivly, but if Pitt doesn’t hurt themselves offensively I like our offense better

I'm looking for a close game. A critical turnover will determine the game.

I think pitts defense is not very good this year. I also think the offense can carry things if Holstein plays well the whole game but that is a lot to ask of a freshmen in his third career start.

I figure the offense will keep getting better (if we don’t have running back issues) and at some point duzz will do enough for the defense for them to be a slightly above average unit. That won’t help todays game but maybe Pitt can pull one out like last week.

Very tough call. I still think our d line is bad, and Cincy bungling a game away doesn't change that. WVU supposedly has a very good o line despite Zach Frazier now snapping balls into Fields' buttery palms.

WVU's secondary should be able to be exploited. They've sucked so far, though the WVU coaches seem to think that's attributable to schematics and have said they will simplify things this week.

I don't trust Eli yet. He has talent, but his mechanics are bad, man. So let's just hope he's on today and we can scheme some things up that don't require balls being thrown into tight windows.

At the end of the day, it's college football. And certain atmospheres can really allow teams to punch above their weight class for the day. I'm hoping that's the case with us today... sort of how we came out amped up against Penn State in 2016 on another hot afternoon.

At the end of the day, win or lose, I just want them to play a Matchbox 20 song today. Just as graduation rates and kids trying their darndest make NCPitt happy, hearing Matchbox 20 among 70,000 people - 15,000 of which cannot read or write (I'd give them 25,000 if they'd have beaten Penn State) - makes me happy.
