First the obvious. The new administration IMO so far is together and on the right track regarding
athletics compared to their predecessors....there is a night and day difference in the hiring since they
came to Pitt; it goes something like this....
Narduzzi: top defensive coordinator in the country. As others have pointed out, a coordinator in
football is far more important than an assistant coach in basketball. Great move by the
chancellor even before the arrival of new AD,Barnes
Soccer: Forgot his name, but this was a BIG time hire. Somehow Barnes got him to Pitt, despite
Pitt being a woeful soccer program.
Suzi McConnell: Re signed her to a multi year contract. She's a legend in women's BBall. Enough said

By this time it should be obvious that the present mgmt. team has more than a clue. The Chancellor is
on board with athletic excellence; the AD IMO knows what he's doing (he also has the Bball credentials).
Replacing Dixon isn't just about athletic and Bball knowledge, it's also about mgmt. expertise, and again IMO, this mgmt. team knows what it's doing.

With all that said, the guy I like is Archie Miller NOT Sean (although I wouldn't toss Sean out of consideration).
Archie is local, and what he's done at Dayton (given the program difference to Arizona) is IMO more
impressive than what Sean's done. If you check his recruiting, you'll see that Archie's best players are not
always local to Dayton. Throw in his local to Pittsburgh ties, and the Bball style difference to Dixon's, and you have a pretty obvious choice IMO. BTW, I'm not saying Archie, and ONLY Archie. What I am saying
is he'd be a great choice, but if not Archie, there are many others, and I'm in the camp that says Pitt,
with it's ACC cred, it's facilities, and it's mgmt. team now in place we're gonna most likely see a great choice.
