The Paterno worshippers that continue to defend him should be shamed by the public.

In the court of public opinion is where the nits will be served with their most severe sentence. The stain that is indelibly etched on them will last longer than most people that are alive today will live; if not longer.

My question is simply this; With so many fine academic institutions in PA (and beyond) why would anyone choose to go to PSU at this point? Why would you want to be associated with that train wreck in any way, shape, or form?

That is a great question, but many still do. The only rationale I can come up with is PS has their major, they cannot afford going to other schools with the same major, and/or the student did not get accepted into that major at other schools.

Why do people join cults? Losers?

I grew up in Central PA and for most of my classmates it was PSU, one of it's branch campuses, or a PSAC school like Millersville or Shippensburg when it came time for college. A lot of PSU alums (my sister and brother in-law included) are willfully ignorant of the depth and scope of the scandal and how it has tarnished their school's reputation. I'm not really sure I blame them.

With all the great countries in the world, why would anyone still be an American? America, a country that institutionalized slavery,, committed near genocide on its native people, promulgates legal bribery of its elected officials, sells more weapons of death than the rest of the world combined and which is engaged in combat within more countries than any other nation on earth.

That men deviate from the philosophical precepts of a religion or government does not constitute a proof of the invalidity of those precepts. Religion is not a commodity selected from a supermarket shelf.

That is extremely debatable.
