Pretty Unbiased Article on Narduzzi

These "articles" where some rando scrapes together a few tweets then slaps a paragraph or two in front of them are so bad. And there's so many of them!

It's kind of like print has finally caught up to the local news broadcasts.

Like KDKA will interview Jerry, from Carrick, in front of his trap-house-looking abode as if his opinion (already pre-vetted to agree with the spirit of the story, obviously) means absolutely ANYthing.

"Yeah, they gotta get that there, uh, crack fixed in the sidewalk cause kids is gonna trip on it."

Local news is brutal. It's stuff like this (which is at least entertaining at times) or them just reading police reports 95 percent of the time. Or a weather update anyone can get on their cell phone.

Let's face it. Pitt football is in deep trouble now. We had that blip when Kenny and Addison were here. But we still have Narduzzi and his staff, and they are destroying Pitt football.

What really pisses me off is that these kids are getting paid good money to win, and they aren't winning or doing their jobs. In any other situation, they'd be fired. Same goes for Narduzzi and his entire staff. They've had their time to build this program and they've failed to win consistently. I don't call winning 6 or 7 games every year winning. And this year, we may not win another game.

Changes need to be made to the whole coaching staff and to the entire team. But first, let's get some coaches in here who can coach and recruit. We don't have that now. Recruit over every position on this current roster and push the non-producers out. This is a results business with professional players. Get results or get fired.

Well if you don’t want your enemies to mock you, don’t suck

He'd be more palatable if he didn't take a dig at someone every chance he gets. It's just a bad look when you go after Lincoln Riley, James Franklin, Deion Sanders, etc. and you're 1-4 and those guys are mostly crushing it at their jobs right now.

I'm not even saying I didn't want him to go after Lincoln Riley at the time (some of the other battles he's waged have been much less merited), but it's probably better just to take the high road at all times in that position because it can be a bad look at some point. At the very least, he needs to choose his spots much more selectively. This Pat Narduzzi vs The World schtick is getting old.

That’s right. Yeah all these guys are turds; he’s not incorrect. It’s too bad most of them exist, actually. But you have to back up the trash talk with results.

Seriously ... like the tweet they highlighted that says if you take away Pickett/Addison, then Narduzzi is 4-8 coach. Without those two, Pitt still finished in the top 25 last year. While he might be 4-8 (or worse) this year, his track record indicates he is on average not a 4-8 coach, even in seasons without Pickett or Addison on the roster.

It's over. Narduzzi missed his window by making a very boneheaded decision with the Cignetti hire. Best case scenario is that MSU is stupid enough to hire him.

I don't think it's over, per se, but I think it's going to take a lot longer than fans are going to want to wait to build this thing back up now that we've tasted blood. Not saying we'll ever win the ACC again under Narduzzi, but I'm just talking about building back up to 8-4/9-3 or so.

That 2017 season was a bad one, but we had a lot of young NFL talent on that roster... and it still took 4 years to do better than 7-5 in the regular season. We appear to be worse off now than we were then.

I still don't understand why Narduzzi was so bent out of shape that Whipple didn't run the ball much during that great 2021 season. I mean, they won the ACC and were a legit top 10 program. So honestly who the hell cares if they didn't run the ball.

So basically Narduzzi ruined all the momentum and excitement about Pitt due to his stubbornness about wanting to run the ball more smh. It's comical if it wasn't so sad.

I think MSU would face a full blown fan/booster/supporter meltdown if that were to happen, especially given how Narduzzi and his 1-4 program are looking to the rest of the world at this moment in time. The latest speculative "lists" I'm seeing don't have Dooz, Enos or Mike Tressel on them. Apparently Jake Dickert and Chris Klieman have already taken themselves out of the mix.

There are some good names on that list like Mike Elko and Charles Huff, but the rest are just names of coaches tied to the program and I have to believe that they’re not realistic.
Unless the source is someone inside the university, there’s no way guys like Dan Enos, Pat Narduzzi, and Mike Tressel are legitimate candidates. That’s not a knock on them as they all did plenty for the program, but they would not be great head coaching material in East Lansing.

"We are having success because the things you said we are doing are true and now we're going to mock you because it's getting harder for you."
"We have better people in those spots now, I'll guarantee you that."

His shots at Slovis were stupid. There's nothing to gain by saying that, and now that we suck and Slovis looks OK he just looks really bad.

He needs to start taking the high road. A few more down seasons and Pitt admin is going to make a mountain out of a molehill on one of these things and try to fire him for cause in hopes of reaching a settlement.

Duzz is Duzz. I've said it here a million times. He's going to say things out loud you wish he wouldn't but a lot of times it's for his own locker room. He's served the purpose he was hired for here and you're probably right giving the admin ammo but nothing is going to change with him.

As bad as Stallings sucked, I thought what Pitt did to him was embarrassing. I hope they'd never do that to another coach, but I can put nothing past Pitt admin. There are no surprises with them.

This is the thing. Narduzzi has tanked the program to Majors 2 talent levels. Unless he strikes it rich in the transfer portal, there is no quick fix here. There's no "young talent" we can count on it. Essentially, we have to start anew with this Class of 24 (and also maybe the Class of 23 will end up being good) and when these guys are juniors and seniors, maybe we can get back to 8-4.

I dont think Narduzzi gets out of this. He dug a hole too deep. I dont see him recruiting his way out. Its a matter of how much of his contract Heather wants to eat.

Firing for cause because he had a non-coach coaching? Lame reason, yea. But he was stealing money. He went "Operation Shutdown" after the press conference. His wife never moved here. He was semi-retired. So I agree with what they did.

Cignetti isn't your problem. He's being micromanage by Narduzzi and doing what his boss wants. Your problem is Narduzzi. Unfortunately for you guys there's no possible way MSU will hire him with how things are going this year. It's just not a hire that would excite their fan base. You guys would be better off to pay his buyout and send him on his way.

I think there could be some existing young talent on the roster, but I sincerely don't think there is very much of it. Maybe like Okunlola, Lovelace, Johnson, Louis, Williams (looked bad in the games, but has been impressive in practice)... and probably a few more. But it seems like at least those '21 and '22 recruiting classes - be it because of size or because of misses - may come back to bite us a bit.

Like I was hoping we would start to see guys like Johnson, Fitzsimmons, Baer, etc. making a difference this year, but they either can't get on the field or don't look all that impressive.

And then it's going to be compounded by the fact that if only a few young guys do develop into good players, are they going to want to stick around on a team that is getting lit up every week? This transfer portal era isn't a good time for a program like Pitt to suck. We've seen it with Georgia Tech - once you're down, it's hard to get off the mat.

He walked into a hornet's nest from day one and had no chance. Not that I didn't dislike the hire from the day it was made. It sucked. But I wouldn't have exerted much effort walking into that situation either if I was him.

Indeed. The GT loss was on Ciggy and Duz for not pulling Slovis. But the WMU was solely on Duz’s defense. I think that team finished last in its Mac division. You should be able to win a game like that with 7 points. But his defense only had to keep them under 40. It couldn’t. His defense sucked and ruined an otherwise excellent season.

I like what the article portrayed.

A dumbass Yinzer who won a championship airing it out...

Then complaining about not "running the ball" enough

Now dumbass has his wish, he's masturbating over "running the ball" all the time

How's it working out? 1-11? :)

Narduzzi is not a smart man.
No, but he never was. That was clear. It's not like this is a new development. He's always been a master of the self-inflicted wound because of his blindness to appearance and perception.

And, to be truthful, he's always been a bit petty.

Petty is a good term to use with him.
