PSU board re: Pitt

Let's be honest. This surely isn't the most batshit crazy thing you've ever posted, but it almost certainly is on the list. West Virginia fans dislike Pitt far more than Pitt fans dislike Penn State. I can't believe anyone who has ever dealt with the three fan bases could rationally think otherwise.
I'm a native born West Virginian, raised in SW PA from infant right through graduating from Pitt in '75(and 1/2). worked my entire work life pretty much in WV and lived since 1978 in southern WV. I honestly do not think WVU fans hate Pitt as much as we hate PSU. Don't misunderstand me - WVU fans LOVE to hate on us - as a cherished rivalry.

But my observation is that Pitt fans genuinely deeply hate PSU at a molecular level and would be hugely happy if PSU had suffered the death penalty. WVU hatred for Pitt is "drunken yahoo hate your rival". But after the game they'd take you home for dinner and more beers - all while insulting you, your wife, and your mother. Pitt hatred for PSU is cold blooded disgust, disdain, and loathing.

Again, just goes to show the passion Penn State Fans have for Pitt, I think that is healthy banter type of rivalry both can accept, respect, and enjoy when Pitt plays Penn State, at Beaver in 2017.

Penn State are upset they have not beaten Pitt this century, they have not won more than 7 other Big Ten Programs either since 2000, and dropped to 8 since 2011?

The Panther-Lair have many great Big Ten Posters come here and posts from Michigan, Penn State, Rutgers, Ohio State, MSU, Nebraska, and others because they can't post on BWI, so take advantage of it. Enjoy it, and learn from them various aspects why they post with Pitt Posters together.

Most BWI Posters just keep regurgitation of inner beliefs that are just past blame on Penn State and can't understand their current Program at least has Athletic Integrity they never had the last 46 years, and just are uninformed and can't refute here on the Lair or anywhere on rivals when a proper response is allowed?

Your point here is well taken, but not on others below. I love going to WVU Games and West Virginia university region been there 4 times this year alone. Great people and University!

But my observation is that Pitt fans genuinely deeply hate PSU at a molecular level and would be hugely happy if PSU had suffered the death penalty.
I also been to many Penn State Games and they have terrific Games that few can compare to when playing and being there, and they corrected their Athletic Integrity mistakes and now are a Model of Reform that deserves praise not Death Penalty. Still, there are a few Penn State Fans do show Penn State hate towards others and I witnessed it there more than at WVU or PITT?

I agree with you on WVU-PITT Fans, and WVU Boosters treat me great all the time from my experience. One call me today to tell about a New Dean taking Business & Economic Department and doing a great job raising money.

Pitt hatred for PSU is cold blooded disgust, disdain, and loathing.
However, you must be out of touch a bit, Penn State Cultists right now on BWI will show cold blooded disgust, disdain, and loathing on Pitt, OSU, Michigan, MSU, and other Universities and Programs. You must not reading all the posts?

Nevertheless, right now the Penn State Cultists Fans hate Penn State more than Pitt and students showed many times rioted in State College for 3 Year destroying parts of the Town, rioted attacking the campus when Paterno was fired, and rioting this week again doing damage in State College after win?

Penn State is Hate shown in their actions every day on BWI and at some Games and they are greater than your word and beliefs.

The reason many Posters from other Programs post on the Lair is because they are hated and banned on Penn State BWI.....so you have of an odd sense of unsolvable values?

By the way, there are 15 Posts out of 25 on PSU BWI and you say Pitt Fans are the only one with cold blooded disgust, disdain, and loathing hatred towards Penn State...... guess those numbers prove you outright wrong, do they not?

Hoops I'm not a dumbass because I went to Cal U I was one before I got there! Some people were meant for greatness I was not, sorry!

Shouldn't they change the name from INDIANa too. It has the word "Indian" in it.

Yeah, they are busting the Cleveland Indians chops now... but yet the FIGHTING Irish is completely ignored. Anyone that was around during the IRA and lockerbee know that is a deeply offensive name. And proven that monies funneled from ND and BC and boston irish americans went to fund terrorist activities that murdered many innocent children.

Not busting on the Vulcans, just pointing out that huge rivalry you have with IUP. There's no love lost between those two schools!

Again, not looking down. My son spent some time at Cal U. I'm sure he hates those damn IUPers too!

I'm teasing Joe. And actually, the CalU/IUP rivalry is something the State of PA should be proud of. If you have time to kill, use the Google machine to learn about the brothers that started the "Coal Bowl". Interesting story and a great example of a respectful/heated rivalry.

Baloney, as usual. A visit to Alabama, and a comparison of Alabama/Auburn, will make your observation ridiculous.
Watch the SEC title game. They have to put State Troopers between sections from top to bottom along the 50 yard line to prohibit fighting and the animus between teams.

Hoops I never had the pleasure of beating IUP in football when I was at Cal!Went 0-4 against those darn Indians but I did enjoy a couple of baseball victories over them!Hillary wants to take the Coal Miners Pail from Cal this year, she wants it replaced with a Solar Energy Panel. The 2017 game will be known as the Alternative Energy Bowl if she wins!

Don't look down your nose at the power of the Coal Bowl Joe!
IUP always had a Swagger over other State Schools Programs I am told, they were a University ahead of some that were only Colleges in 1970s.

I always enjoyed that Pennsylvania had "Indiana University of Pennsylvania" and "California University of Pennsylvania" and both Schools had some top majors like CALU Industrial Arts nationally known and the Harvard School of Education actually had a CALU head of its Department of Education. IUP Grad heads up Clemson Athletics, Cignetti that was at Pitt I think went to IUP too.

I was at a OPIC (The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Seminar once in Washington DC in 1980s and a group of CALU Students all Foreign Students going there were together, and one guy whispered what is the CIA doing here bringing their new recruits? I asked what are you talking about? He said back, "Did you see the van outside, that says California University of Pennsylvania? Now that is a CIA Front if I ever heard of one?"

I just smiled and moved to another place after break. I want to learn not discuss Conspiracy Theories? I later approach the Professor that brought the Students there and he was a bright man and told me, many of his prior Students actually ended up working at OPIC by coming to that Seminars and that was way back in 1980s before 911 and ISIS?

However, I also learned from that Professor that Tyson Corners Embassy Suites in Virginia is where many CIA Interviews sometimes are process if one is selected beyond the Initial Interviews. But he said, he just expanding his Students abilities to get a job or set up a business, and exposing them to good sources for them to pursue on their own. He was a very bright Professor as I saw it and CALU was smart to hire him as I look back on it too?

Medixman are you that Professor?

BTW, O.P.I.C. is the U.S. Government's development finance institution, mobilizes private capital to help solve critical development challenges and in doing so, advances U.S. foreign policy. OPIC works with the U.S. private sector, providing Insurance to Businesses willing to take Great Risks to do business in emerging markets, to provide jobs and growth opportunities both at home and abroad. OPIC provides investors with financing, political risk insurance, and support for private equity funds.

Much attention today to Pitt. mikemauti started a thread about this board coming apart at the seams over the PSU win. An exaggeration to draw attention to the thread for the Pitt haters? I think many on this board gave PSU kudos for the win. Yes, you'll always have the posters who will never credit a rival or opponent (i.e. some here and mauti and some there), but I think some Pitt fans, even though somewhat shocked and distressed, used it as a positive in that 'Pitt beat PSU, this makes Pitt look better'. We all know it was a great victory for PSU, and that it revives their program somewhat, but it never overwhelmed this board or took anything away from Pitt. We have had some threads about the officiating, PSU's ranking, and their possibility of going 10-2, but the Nit board is making it look like extreme anxiety, and then using it as a segue to demeaning Pitt, saying PSU 'gave the game to Pitt', and adding that Pitt will see in the next 3 years. OK guys. Whatever you think about Pitt, but the fact of the matter, is that they shouldn't spit in the wind, because nobody knows what will happen down the line. Both teams will be better next year. Penn St has recruited well (even when the sanctions were in order), but they haven't parlayed it lately. We'll see if Narduzzi and his recruiting can compete with that powerhouse to the east (TIC), answer their narcissistic fans, and not rest on this year's victory. In the meantime, let's hope Pitt finishes the season strong. (BTW, I went over there to see the thread about Howie81's prediction of PSU by 30 over Pitt next year.)
Good luck for tonite. I think many PSU fans would love to replay the game now. Were finally seemingly coming together as a football team. As far as I'm concerned you guys won and we lost period. I'd like to see a strong Penn State and Pitt teams. It makes playing the game and the stakes that much more enjoyable not to mention the ongoing recruiting wars. FWIW Howie81 was making his prediction of next years outcome based on the amount of current starters leaving Pitt and how few leaving Penn State.
