Don't forget that bitter and hated Grove City-Allegheny College rivalry. Those two fanbases HATE each other.
I thought IUP and Cal U was the big western PA hatefest?

I'm a native born West Virginian, raised in SW PA from infant right through graduating from Pitt in '75(and 1/2). worked my entire work life pretty much in WV and lived since 1978 in southern WV. I honestly do not think WVU fans hate Pitt as much as we hate PSU. Don't misunderstand me - WVU fans LOVE to hate on us - as a cherished rivalry.Let's be honest. This surely isn't the most batshit crazy thing you've ever posted, but it almost certainly is on the list. West Virginia fans dislike Pitt far more than Pitt fans dislike Penn State. I can't believe anyone who has ever dealt with the three fan bases could rationally think otherwise.
Joe don't be busting on my Cal U Vulcans ,you know they're undefeated and ranked #6 in the country!!Go Vulcans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now it all makes sense...you're a dumbass 'cause you're a Vulcan.
Go Big Indians! (Or Bears, or Crimson Hawks, or whatever in the hell we are calling ourselves these days)
Shouldn't they change the name from INDIANa too. It has the word "Indian" in it.

Hoops I'm not a dumbass because I went to Cal U I was one before I got there! Some people were meant for greatness I was not, sorry!

Not busting on the Vulcans, just pointing out that huge rivalry you have with IUP. There's no love lost between those two schools!
Don't look down your nose at the power of the Coal Bowl Joe!
Again, not looking down. My son spent some time at Cal U. I'm sure he hates those damn IUPers too!
Watch the SEC title game. They have to put State Troopers between sections from top to bottom along the 50 yard line to prohibit fighting and the animus between teams.Baloney, as usual. A visit to Alabama, and a comparison of Alabama/Auburn, will make your observation ridiculous.

IUP always had a Swagger over other State Schools Programs I am told, they were a University ahead of some that were only Colleges in 1970s.Don't look down your nose at the power of the Coal Bowl Joe!
Good luck for tonite. I think many PSU fans would love to replay the game now. Were finally seemingly coming together as a football team. As far as I'm concerned you guys won and we lost period. I'd like to see a strong Penn State and Pitt teams. It makes playing the game and the stakes that much more enjoyable not to mention the ongoing recruiting wars. FWIW Howie81 was making his prediction of next years outcome based on the amount of current starters leaving Pitt and how few leaving Penn State.Much attention today to Pitt. mikemauti started a thread about this board coming apart at the seams over the PSU win. An exaggeration to draw attention to the thread for the Pitt haters? I think many on this board gave PSU kudos for the win. Yes, you'll always have the posters who will never credit a rival or opponent (i.e. some here and mauti and some there), but I think some Pitt fans, even though somewhat shocked and distressed, used it as a positive in that 'Pitt beat PSU, this makes Pitt look better'. We all know it was a great victory for PSU, and that it revives their program somewhat, but it never overwhelmed this board or took anything away from Pitt. We have had some threads about the officiating, PSU's ranking, and their possibility of going 10-2, but the Nit board is making it look like extreme anxiety, and then using it as a segue to demeaning Pitt, saying PSU 'gave the game to Pitt', and adding that Pitt will see in the next 3 years. OK guys. Whatever you think about Pitt, but the fact of the matter, is that they shouldn't spit in the wind, because nobody knows what will happen down the line. Both teams will be better next year. Penn St has recruited well (even when the sanctions were in order), but they haven't parlayed it lately. We'll see if Narduzzi and his recruiting can compete with that powerhouse to the east (TIC), answer their narcissistic fans, and not rest on this year's victory. In the meantime, let's hope Pitt finishes the season strong. (BTW, I went over there to see the thread about Howie81's prediction of PSU by 30 over Pitt next year.)
