Make no mistake that this contingent is by far almost wholly representative of their alumni and fan base. 99.999999999% believe Sandusky, or any PSU affiliate, should be able to do anything he wants, and those people he does them to ... man, woman, child ... should be honored by his attention.
This is reflected not just in Sandusky and Paterno but everything associated with them, including this fraternity death of recent weeks. But especially manifested in the hiring of their latest coach and president, both mired in rape scandals themselves.
This includes nearly every Nit in the media. Especially those in Pittsburgh media. They have never acquiesced that anything really was WRONG with what happened there. They covered up and censored the story for the most part, but when cornered about it, all they say in great irritation is "we want to get past it". But what that really means is "shut up about it, and don't dare suggest PUNISHMENT for it. Because all that matters is football."
This is why they needed to get the death penalty.
