Good article that ranks games that are high stakes in 2016. ESPN lists the PITT vs PSU game as #9 while PSU says this game doesn't mean anything and they could careless about PITT. Even one of their coaches said we are not rivals.

It doesn't matter what you think PSU fans, everyone knows that this is a "High Stakes" game and primarily for you and CJF. Nitters will continue to deny basic logical facts like this game is important for both teams or not reporting sexual assault is ok. A loss to PITT would be devastating for the PSU reputation, much like the Temple loss was. The fan base will not tolerate that like they tolerate illegal activities or the disclosure of. While PITT maybe the favorite in this game, we really feel like the underdogs because PSU has everything to lose. It is nice to have a rival that is so easy to hate. H2P

When I care what Penn State fans think about anything, I'll let you know.

Surely this list cannot be correct. Where is the nationally relevant annual rivalry game between tOSU and PSU? Clearly an error of omission.
Exactly. You would think if Penn st had another rival in the big 10. Surely this article would of printed it.

Its comical to me the only reason there is any print about that school is because they play Pitt.... go figure

Maybe it is because I am in a younger generation of fans but I have been saying this is a big game since it was announced. Any PSU fan who says otherwise is living in the past and does not understand the momentum a win here can gain for recruiting. From the last 10 years or so that I have been reading BWI it has become clear that most fans live in the past and have not let go of the glory years. It will be a telling year for both coaches and will be fun to watch.

Doesn't say anything about rival games in 2016 .Games with the HIGHEST STAKES

pretty sure UCLA at Texas A&M and Oklahoma vs. Houston are not rivals!

I cannot believe the BAMA-USC Game is on that lists, though I expect Bama's Saban to out coach the Trojan's Coach badly, just lack confidence in him and USC New AD Swann may replace him after this or next year?.

My Post at the end of season how Higher Ups and the Penn State Former Players and New Trustees have put much pressure on Franklin to win in 2016 and why no Extension so far from AD Barbour & PSU.

I can see them giving him a pass in 2016 with no shame on losing to Michigan, MSU, Iowa, and OSU, but the Pitt & Temple games will be pressure cookers for Franklin & Staff this year.

A few of the BWI's "WiseNots JoeBots" (Just A Few) thought otherwise and posted such as well, but in all honesty they are not comfortable with Franklin & Staff either, all hopes are on Moorhead Offense taking off fast and furious early.

Thanks for the clarification. Does it annoy you that the game for PSU next year with the HIGHEST STAKES is against Pitt?

Actually, the loss to Pitt would be worse than the loss to Temple from State Farm's perspective, because . . .

While the loss to Temple raised the possibility that Frank Nittany's boast of "dominating the state" was nothing but hot air . . .

Losing to Pitt would confirm it.

For Penn State fans and for Pitt fans PSU losing to Pitt is bigger than PSU losing to Temple, yes.

For the rest of college football, no.
