Put the discussion about post-season to bed

finally I have been left with no doubt

my only question is was this a successful season, and the one person I am not certain of his answer is the Duzz's

any head coach with insight would offer to either contribute to NIL or cut his buyout.....am I wrong thinking that?

Only Pitt could allow an opposing player who's averaged 1.5 ppg to score in double digits

Exactly. Pitt is able to make poor players and teams look like world beaters.

I really don't want to hear about the bubble that we're not going to get close to. This team is not anything close to a NCAAT team. If we get NIT, I don't see Capel coaching any differently than all year...poor defense and rebounding, no ball movement, players standing around with cement in their shoes on offense.

Moe I hate to say this but that was decided a week or two ago. There was no chance this team was going to fix all the problems they have and get in the dance. And the biggest problem IMO is coaching. Capel lost this team a month ago.

I've been talking about the string of wins we'll need to get back on the bubble for a couple of weeks now, knowing most of them will not happen. Yet, I was called out for saying it.

This Pitt team is a bad team, on par or maybe worse than a bad ND team who we somehow made look pretty good. They scored 46 points on us in the second half alone. I think if we were being honest about it, we all knew this a couple of weeks ago. But there will still be those who don't like honesty. Don't look at me to sugar coat the debacle that is now Pitt basketball.

No, you were called out for making absurdly inaccurate statements, like saying we needed to win out and win multiple games in the ACC tournament just to get on the bubble yesterday, when they were already on the bubble yesterday.

The team laying another egg today doesn't make those statements any more accurate.

If it was a Pitt bench player doing that you’d be excited , 3/4 from three ! That stupid coach shouldn’t have that kid on the bench ! Boy if only we had a better coach …….

Most players who are receiving a D1 scholarship are pretty damn good Bb players .

I was hoping that Cummings would have had a stellar performance vs ND today. Kudos to Certa and Shrewsbury for giving him the minutes

This season really boils down to not getting enough production out of the two freshman. It’s not fair to blame them , but without being able to add more players from the portal it really put Pitt in a precarious situation. I really believe it all boils down to not having enough resources to fill the voids in the roster .

Please don’t show your stupidity here
This is all on CAPEL and no one else

None of this falls on poor on court decisions or lack of talent of the players . The coaches teach them to miss open shots , throw bad passes and being out of position.

It must be a coincidence that great coaches have great players .

Think Pitt would be better with Cooper Flagg !

Are there better coaches out there than JC , sure there are , but are they coming to Pitt ? Or would they stay here very long . I want them to win a national championship , but it’s not a priority of the university. They’re not firing JC and they’re not going out and buying the best coach and players they can .

Yeah, this season ended when they fell behind 30-10 to Virginia. All the discussions about what they needed to do after that point were built on delusions.

Delusion is the key word. If any Pitt fan believed we had a chance to make the NCAAT after that UVA disaster, they were delusional. It wasn't the final score or deficit in that game as much as how they played in the loss. And that transferred to every game from that point forward, even the wins. Today was another prime example of their poor play in a loss. These players are getting paid good money. Time to put up or shut up. Well, that time has passed. It's over.

The only thing true in your post is the lays statement

Whoever coaches are responsible for is instilling discipline

The only factual statement on your post is the last one

However once again you go out of your way to defend Capel and this staff.

Capel himself said the following

We haven’t been consistent enough with our discipline and things that we have tried to work on in games to become a consistently good team,” Capel said after Pitt lost its ninth ACC game in the past 13. “We didn’t play with the intelligence and the commitment and the discipline, defensively especially, that we needed to.”

Now who is responsible for instilling discipline and commitment ? That’s on the coach and staff and they’ve failed miserably

Missing shots is one thing. Things like taking care of the ball, playing with intensity, and being disciplined on both ends of the court are coaching issues
