I honestly have not watched much SMU, but so far most of the preview content I have seen has been focused on their offense.
So to flip this to their defense, just a few questions:
1. Are there any star players to key in on?
2. Rush defense seems very solid at 2.7ys/rush allowed. Is this a function of a good defensive line or committing a lot of guys to stopping it?
3. Pass rush has only generated 17 sacks in 8 games. Is it simply the lack of a big pass rusher and do they not prioritize this in their defense?
4. Secondary seems quite sticky with 12 picks. Are they predominantly man or zone? Their yards/completion seem pretty low on the season at 6.72yds/attempt.
