We have none. Heck - we were not even the first to offer a Top 100 guard 5 miles from Dixon's home.
Yep.... that' what I'm getting at. When Howland was coach I heard about the tireless recruiting efforts of Dixon. I don't hear that about this staff.

He's got handle, he's fast, plays solid D AND has fan-freaking-tastic court awareness. Someone please make a hard run at the kid. He's exactly what this team needs.

In all fairness this sounds like a better question for the Penn State board.
I was thinking the same thing and was reluctant to post it, but Jamie must be out there chasing kids and offering them, before anyone else!!!!
When he was doing well on the AAU circuit this past summer and other schools started coming after him we were hesitant. But I guess who cares. We probably have 3 other great SG lined up already. Probably the next Isaiah Epps. All that matters is can he rebound and defend.
I do get both sides here though truthfully. I'm old enough that when I look at this I think it shouldn't matter that much. Then I realize it's the entitled/everyone gets a trophy generation and some of these kids probably need to have their hind ends kissed as early and as often as possible.
I know there's tons of money to be made at certain levels but I don't think I could make my living recruiting teenagers. Especially today's kids.
What you are suggesting is Jamie should automatically offer kids as soon as someone else does so as not to be late to the party. Fans are always bitching because Jamie has been missing out on good guards and now I am hearing people complain because he did a little due diligence and didn't offer Carmody til October of his SOPHOMORE year.

Talked to some friends from the area the other day. They said Sean Miller just offered last week and Louisville offered yesterday. Apparently Nova is in it as well as Penn State and Miami. He loves Sean Miller.
Both of them think RC's Tony Carr is about as good as him. Size is an issue (he's only about 5'11)
Cosby-Roundtree is also a top 150 player nationally too who likes Penn State, Nova, and 'Cuse early.

I am saying JD should be able to identify a good player within walking distance of his home, and should be on him like flies on sh#t rather than waiting for other schools to offer before he does. Capiche.
whatever Jamie is doing is not working! Watching this tournament has me wondering why we don't really have any quality guards. I have seen plenty of mid-majors with guards that would have helped us tremendously. Not sure what has to change, but something does.
Quade Green would be awesome, but maybe we could set our sites on a player we could land. We have to stop missing on our Plan A recruits. There are so many good guards in the Philly Catholic league and yet we get nothing from there.
Of all the beefs with Dixon and for all those who want him gone, his inability to recruit a top guard may just be his greatest failure, and an indictment of his coaching philosophy!

Very good question. I was at the game and at halftime I checked his offer sheet and also wondered why Pitt wasn't listed. Did he tell the staff he flat out wasnt interested or does the staff feel other options are better?
I did feel bad for Mars. Had to face 5 D1 guys.
