did anybody notice that for the few times a backup offensive lineman had to replace a starter for a play or two or in the case in the bowl game when DJ went out the staff turned to John Guy and not JJSmith.I was at game and I don't believe I saw Smith in at all.
Is he still recovering from the difficult injury he suffered in 2015 or is it possible the staff is trying to get him a second medical redshirt (is that possible) so he could be eligible for two more years at Pitt.Prior to the injury the kid looked really good and with his size and wingspan has NFL written all over him he gains much needed experience.

JJS is a pure tackle, they werent going to put him at gaurd.

Not by any means qualified, but just maybe JJS doesn't impress the staff with his understanding of the motion offense during practice. Just a thought.

JJS is an offensive tackle period. John Guy was the next man up. He should be a started next year.

I think he meant JJS will be a starter next year.
ok, that makes sense.. I think it goes without saying that JJS and O'neill are the starters.. Im curious if we have a legit 3rd tackle.. Big spring for the next wave of OL to make a name for themselves.. By this time next year, JJS will be graduating and O'Neill will be talking with his agent about his draft stock..

i know he is a tackle but I believe it was in the Duke or Syracuse game O'Neil dinged his shoulder and 62 John Guy i think replaced him at tackle for one or perhaps two plays.

my concern, and nobody seems to have mentioned it yet, is Officer at C. His 2 botched snaps were costly Wednesday. I think his natural position is at G, and I think he is a better than average lineman. Anyone that could slide in at C?

JJ Smith will be better than Biz
Officer will move to LG
Dintino will slide to C
Bookser stays at RG
O'Neill stays at RT

Paulina, Pilato, Ford, Morgan, Hargrove battle for backup times.

JJ Smith did get some snaps in the game.
