Is it possible he wasn't better or at least as good as some of the RB playing ahead of him?

This is yet another player Narduzzi spoke glowingly about and yet never really seemed to be given a legit opportunity to show what he can do in a game.

Does anyone know the full story as to why he left?

Got to think Narduzzi felt at least a little bit sick about him leaving after the less than stellar performance this year with the running game.

There was a thread on this but I’ll answer what I said and others said.

His 1st year because he had 1 good carry he expected to play over 2 Sr backs in Q and Hall who has great years. The kid is either not very bright or he is an entitled brat who is full of himself.

This past year he was coming of knee surgery and not fully healthy. If he had a little patience he would have got his shot once fully healthy. I think he has talent and could have done well but he had no patience to stick it out. From his interview on the tabloid site with Vuk the kid seems to need to grow up.

Thanks for the response.

Do you know if he was being given a bit of the run around by the coaches about playing time this year or do you think Narduzzi told him he had a legit chance to start this year?

Sure no problem.

I don’t claim to have inside info. But a good was to find out some info is seeing the videos Pitt puts out all throughout training camp and throughout the year. When talking about him both PN and Powell seemed to be complimentary of the kid. But he missed most of training camp recovering from surgery. And did not play in the Blue Gold game. It’s hard to promise an unproven player PT the until they are healthy. Yes he was a 4 star kid but so was AJ Davis and Sibley on some sites. It would not be fair to the other backs to promise a kid who has not practiced PT.

There are many things to criticize PN about but I don’t recall him every risking further injury to a player who was deemed not ready for contact drills by the medical staff. They said he would be ready to go after a few games but the kid had no patience.

Look at Shocky for example. Ppl were complaining about him not playing early but later after his big game he admitted that he was not healthy. He seemed to handle it in a mature way. Shocky didn’t demand to be rushed back or he would transfer if he didn’t get his way

Unless its personal, should have stuck it out like Shocky imo. Might be starting next year. But then again, this is one of the worst offenses in D1.

I may have missed it, where is he now?

who cares, he can tske his entitled a$$ somewhere else.....40 yards....it was 23 you moron

I stumbled upon him in the transfer portal yesterday along with Coleman (who someone mentioned in a new thread). I had totally forgot Salahuddin left the team. Also noticed LB McKee on the list, which I think someone else had also started a thread about about as well). I was just thinking about the RB situation and couldn’t imagine why he would have left.

Didnt know about McKee - but he definitely seems to have been passed over by other players

This is the 100000000% correct take

There are actually people getting upset at the notion of Pitt players going the portal route and pointing a finger at the coaching staff. Well they're correct. Welcome to modern day CFB. With the '20 class coming it's becoming clear that the currently constructed roster is being "recruited over". Add in today's kids' impatience and this is what to expect of roster turnover every year. All legit programs experience it. If the coaching staff is doing its job, that is. I'm excited every time a roster spot opens. It means a player is going to the league early or going portal because of playing time for the most part. This is a good reflection of the program in my opinion.

This is a total distortion of what he said. He never said he deserved to be playing ahead of Ollison and Hall. He said that after his first carry went for 23 yards, he expected to get more carries in that same kind of situation — where they were being spelled. He thought that run would open eyes. Instead, he found other backs getting those carries, particularly AJ Davis (who he didn’t mention by name, but statistically that is who got most of those carries).

It can certainly be argued that if the staff thought the 4 carries he had was enough for them to evaluate him, then it was fine that they gave AJ Davis those carries. It also can be argued that he proved that he deserved them. But, he never said, alluded or implied that he deserved carries over Ollison or Hall.

Tabloid recruiting sites believe this is further evidence of poor utilization of talent. I feel like Alan Saunders could have waited a week and claimed further malpractice because Narduzzi didn't kiss Raines' backside.
He might have something there

Alan Saunders is in no way a Pitt supporter. Read his articles over a period of time and easy to tell he does not like Pitt and its staff.

Well, that was more or less my point. Vuk built that site on being the insider and proved pretty early he was full of crap with all of the "silent commits" he claimed to have info on. Just a blog post that bothers HS kids in their DM's and thinks they can grow readership with nonsense.

It’s a hbc

the Aggie -eagle classic between a&t and nc central is actually a kinda big deal in North Carolina
It’s also a hsd-huge step down from P5 football.

Not exactly like transferring to the SEC, or even the MAC.

I love how he has penciled himself in not only as his new team’s best player, but the new face of its entire league.

Well
Thanks for stating the obvious

I was simply providing context to what NC a&t is

As someone stated above,

If you dont see guys leaving for the transfer portal it suggests little talent to compete with.

3 guys leaving pitt, as cold as this may sound, is a good thing

Another dude with an inflated sense of self. Some people would rather be the big fish in a little pond rather than be the little fish in a big pond that has to make himself bigger.

Most ppl know it’s a HBC. And if u think he went there for the Aggie Eagle classic u don’t have a clue smh.

It is a big deal. Also the HBC angle is big. IMO NC has an amazing HBC educational system and athletic league. I wish him the best, but I will say this makes me believe the injury greatly hurt his overall abilities on the football field.

It seems that he has it all figured out.

He's going to be the face of an entire conference, playing for a historical franchise.

He'll be a shoo in to make it to the NFL.

And, he's going to now be with people he can relate with on a social level.

It sounds like a win, win, win for him.

I'm now trying to figure out why he didn't make this fantastic decision right out of high school.

I think mostly he was best suited to be our #1 back, I like Vincent Davis’ speed a lot though.... I think that could’ve been a really good duo. I think the coaching staff probably felt he just needed a bit more time to recover from his injury. Mychale while not practicing probably realized guys he felt he was better than were battling for the starting RB position.

Obviously he wants to get back on the field ASAP in that situation, likely he thought he was healthier than the coaches thought he needed to be to take the risk. The shame is even had he missed a game or two he probably has every opportunity to prove himself when he returned at 100% because our running game never really got it going consistently.
