This is my first year as a season ticket holder and actually my first Pitt game viewed from outside of the student section. I will admit that going from sitting in the first row of the student section during most of my time at Pitt to regular seating (Section 113) was a big culture shock. After one game, I'm confident that I would at least like to move to the home side in the future even though the seats themselves are pretty awesome. The section itself was completely dead with half the Pitt fans around me not clapping, participating in "Lets Go Pitt", the Alma Mater, Sweet Caroline, or even looking like a warm body when something good happened. I also realize this was just poor luck, but the YSU fans in my section got into a screaming fight with literally every group of people within a 7 seat radius of themselves and almost started about 5 separate fights (one of which was with another YSU fan who was mad at them for standing and threatened to get the cops if they wouldn't sit).
I want a section where I can stand, cheer, and feel like part of the atmosphere again. Is that even possible outside of the student section or is this just what it is like being in the GA? Are there any sections known to be more lively?
