Respectfuly disagree.Yes we did do some things
differently, as both teams
were bad offensively. We did
hit threes due to Horton
being hot. Our offensive sets
IMO were not all that different.
It was mostly set a high pick
out front and dribbler (mostly
Femi) coming off it and looking
for an open shooter, taking it
to the hole himself, or passing
it off on the perimeter. No big
change, except Horton hitt 3's.
Defensively we kept them from
scoring, 51 pts. Why?.....Great
defense? LOL. They shot 28%
on their FG's, and 29% on 3's.
Their low %'s were a result of
their subs being very poor
offensively. Our man D was
typically what we usually do.
Our pressure out front was
more successful, but IMO
that was due to FSU's subs
being so poor. bottom line
though, we had more talent
for once.
We did not do very much
differently, other thaan
having a hot shooter who
hit his 3's. No great coaching
changes schematically or
otherwise, as I saw it.
we been short handed all yr 2 players that's at least 18 more points tired of Hearing how those two players wouldn't have help. smh we did play the same the difference is that we had a shooter back helps spacing and don't say he won't make a difference he just did and second what is it his 4th game back smh he needs to get comfortable with his team and playing competitive ball.Yes we did do some things

No problem, that's why weRespectfuly disagree.
We were less work through the post. The passes were quicker. There was less weave. We did enter attack mode quicker.
Somebody on another site said Capel’s rapped the Flex for a Spread. No problem, that's why we
have a message board.
Capel did not say he scrapped the Flex for a Spread. It was a poster on another forum.Well you know you might
have a point as to what
you saw Pitt doing that
was different. Personally
I didn't see the same, but
that's ok. As for me, as I
posted earlier, I saw some
of the worst Bball for two
ACC teams that I think I've
ever seen.
As for the flex, I have to
laugh, if that's what Capel
said. I saw an offense that
called for the pg to repeatedly
look for a pick out front. The
pick and roll is basic, but hardly
ever works for Pitt. We looked
good hitting 3's, but it's easy
to look good when the ball
goes through the hoop. A
number of Horton's 3's were
his sitting in the corner and
geting open looks. I saw that
more of FSU not getting to him
than any great offensive
stradegy by Capel.
Just my two cents.
Just saw this thread this morning. You are correct John. I actually saw us play An NBA style offense quite a bit. 1 man up top and a clear out for him as our other 4 were spaced along the baseline. This only worked because as someone already mentioned we were playing FSU's second team. Mostly Femi, but occasionally Burton were able to beat there man off the dribble and got Horton's man to over help. Then they were able to make the quick pass to Horton who lit it up. I think Capel deserves a little credit for realizing that we had a rare quickness advantage and playing that style. Just don't get used to it, we won't be playing anyone else's 2nd team.It was different mainly because FSU plays different. We spaced our guys much further apart because I believe the plan was to drive and kick. You could tell that Horton had the green light from the starting tip. FSU generally won’t play zone and they switch everything, so we wanted as much spacing as possible and then looked for match up’s that Femi or Burton could exploit.
Spot on - it works when you have a talent advantage. But the problem is we won’t have a talent advantage against most conference opponents.Just saw this thread this morning. You are correct John. Is it possible that Kyle Cieplicki is assuming a influential role with advice to Coach Capel? Some things with the offense have changed.Somebody on another site said Capel’s scrapped the Flex for a Spread.
I looked at several descriptions of the Flex.. They does not sound like what Pitt has been running, unless Pittruns it so poorly that it is unrecognizable.
