AgreeAliquippa should've went for two on their TD in the fourth. They should do the same if they score here.
They're both in Class 4A now.Why was TJ playing Aliquippa....aren’t they in different divisions?
asking for a friend....

Aliquippa is a 1A school in enrollment, but it was playing 3A the past few years because thats where its rivals are. But the PIAA's new competition formula forced them to move to 4A because they've won so much and have transfers (which are mostly kids born in Quip moving back in). So they were forced to play in 4A this year even though they were already voluntarily playing two classes up.
I can’t say for sure in this case...but reclassification is normally revisited every two years by the PIAA. So my guess is things stay the same next yearSo what happens next season? Can they move back down a level? Down to their enrollment or only down one level?
Pretty amazing. It would be interesting to see how they would fair vs a middle of the pack 6A team. I’m sure a PCC or NA would pound them and even a Lebo, Seneca Valley or Canon Mac...but I’d be curious to see them play a Hempfield or Norwin or Baldwin.the quips have the 4th smallest enrollment in the WPIAL.

Can't move down for another year. Their JR High team was 6-0. Unscored upon and beat North Allegheny 41-0! This was a rebuilding year!I can’t say for sure in this case...but reclassification is normally revisited every two years by the PIAA. So my guess is things stay the same next year
Watching 5A, both TJ and Aliquippa are as good or better than Peters.
BTW, what's the attendance limit for these games? The TJ/Aliquippa game seemed pretty full.
I will actually walk my post above back...I have reason to believe that the Quips would not get pounded by a mid level 6A team. Based on what I’ve heard from scrimmages this past season, I think Aliquippa would have faired well in a game vs Seneca or CM. I think it might have been competitive with either team winning. And that would mean they’d likely beat teams like Hempfield. Can't move down for another year. Their JR High team was 6-0. Unscored upon and beat North Allegheny 41-0! This was a rebuilding year!
I think Pine or Peters beat most 6A teams. 6A is just not strong at all.The biggest difference from AAAA to 5A and 6A is the consistency in line play. TJ was able to get downhill in 2nd half on the Quips.
This is a good not great TJ team. Last year's TJ team was a great TJ team.
Pine is the "cleanest" team in the WPIAL when it comes to execution.
They do not have the 4th smallest enrollment in the wpial. There are approximately 25 smaller schools in the wpial.
