Team goals should be their priority. That exhibition showed that they are not.
I don’t think they care that they took a costly 15 yard penalty late in the 3rd quarter.

It’s December 26. They are in Detroit. They would rather be home with friends and family. They are 19-22 years old.

did you watch the Independence Bowl? I wouldn’t want to be in Shreveport, Louisiana today either. These kids have been playing since early August. They are ready for a break.
I did, and didn’t see anything like that. And they’re not really kids at this point, this is big time football at the P5 level, it was totally unacceptable.
I blame the coaches as much as the players, it showed total lack of control. The worst part of it is that it was obviously scripted, had they been losing 30-0 they almost certainly still would’ve done the same thing.

If these young adults don’t want to potentially miss the holidays then they shouldn’t play football in college. I missed Memorial Day weekend 3 out of 4 years because I was playing post season lacrosse. The 4th one....I would have given anything to be playing instead of partying with family and friends.

Your comparing Memorial Day to Christmas? Was your lacrosse team 7-5? Did the season last five months?
If I have to make the trip..I’m trying to win regardless. You have to try to lose to a team like this. EMU is not good.
Pitt got a 15 yard penalty doing something NFL players can do with impunity. Meanwhile, Eastern Michigan has players ejected for spitting and punching a referee. I will take the former.
It was one bad decision. I thought their discipline was decent the rest of the game, especially considering that EMU seemed very undisciplined and chippy.
That’s the type of celebration you want to save for......NEVER.
